1 ton frames

I am wanting to purchase a shakle flip for my truck but they say there only for the trucks with 6 lugs. I was wanting to know how much diference is the 1 ton frame to the half tons. MY fram measures about 4 and 3/4s of an inch from out side diameter. Will they still work. Its on an 88-98

who said that?

If your talking about the ORD kit...they still work. There is a slight difference between the 1/2-3/4 ton and 1 ton frames to where you have to get a different shackle kit. One ton frames are slightly more narrow than 3/4-1/2 so the kit needs to stick out more but they still work.

i would think about going away from getting a nice shackle flip kit if you are just going to have to modify it anyway. just a thought.

1-ton trucks require a different flip kit than k5's, k10's and k20's. The kit is the same price, we just need to know it's for a 1-ton when you order it. The difference is that the spring center spacing on the 1-ton axle is only 40 1/2", and on the rest of the trucks, it's 42 1/2". The brackets are a different shape to reflect that.

This is directly from ORD's website

I think he is referring to the 88-98 trucks. Not 100%, but I think the hangers are the same from half to 1-ton.
