How to ?

Have searched and searched but cant find a no sh*t how to build up with pics converting a crew cab long bed to a short bed? Not intrested in putting the cab on a lwb frame or having a stub for a bed. I need to know how much to cut out of the frame and where.

Thanks

Send a message via ICQ to gottagofast Send a message via AIM to gottagofast Send a message via Yahoo to gottagofast
or to put nicely ..... if you can't figure this out then you have NO BUSINESS cutting and welding on a frame
Take it to a fab shop.

Is this about shortening the Box or the wheelbase? Bob your bed behind the wheels, way easier!!!

In response to the assinine comment that were posted. I will say that in am a compitant welder/fabricator the only problem is that here in iraq (yes i said iraq) there are no crew cabs or short beds to compare measure ments from.

If you ask how long are generation 2 (mid 70s to early 90s),cabs and boxes, or Generation 3 (early to mid 90s) cabs and boxes, whichever you need, you could probably get more help. I don't know of any write-ups. I have all of the above mentioned trucks, long and shortbed and a 93 extended cab longbed also. What measurements do you need? Some of them are at a remote location but if no-one else can measure some eventually I will. What truck are you gonna cut up?

I have a 93 Crewcab longbed and a 89 reg cab shortbed here at my house.
