My shackle flip and 64 incher install

As some of you might remember, I posted up a little while ago about some homebrew shackle flip brackets I made....here is the link to jog the ol' memory....http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showt...e+shackle+flip

Anyway, fast forward to today, and here are some pics of them installed.

I moved the front spring hanger forward 5.75 inches on each side to accomodate the 64"s (the old were 52"s)

I removed the rear 4 inch lift blocks, removed the bottom overload leaf from the 64" pack, and bolted them down with some new 5/8" u bolts.

I set my shackle angle to 30 degrees back, that is with the full weight of the truck resting on it. At full droop, the shackle is kicked forward 7 degrees.

And I bolted my shackle brackets down with some quality 1/2" grade 8 yellow beef.

Jacking up from the frame, I get a full 6 inches of suspension droop before the tires come off the ground.

Stay tuned, the 52" rear-to-front install is coming soon.

Looks good. You should lump all your upgrades into a build thread of sorts.

whats the necessary measurements the shackle reversal brackets. I am looking to make my own at the moment and it would make life so much easier if i had some measurements that are already in use.

Yeah, about that....we do this gay inspection in Hawaii called "reconstructive inspection"...basically revenue enhancement for the state, they "give" you permission to own a modified vehicle as long as it passes their standards of reconstruction...and the wood blocks got me past their stupid inspection....

go figure.
