2007 5.3 vortec motor swap?

I have a 2007 GMC 1500 with a 4.8 and I also have a 2007 Tahoe with a 5.3. They are both the new body style. My ? is can I swap the the 2 motors and ECU's . I know it is a straight swap as for the motor but I don't know what the ECU's will do with the start enable.
If you are asking why? I first bought the Tahoe and had planned on towing with it, but later found a deal a truck with the 4.8 and the wife will not drive the truck.
thanks

Does the Tahoe have AFM (displacement on demand)? If so you will lose it and have to tune it out. Other than that its a bolt in swap. You won't have to swap ECM since its just the long blocks.

I wouldn't do it because you might have problems not using the AFM on the 5.3L later, lifter problems etc. And you have to remove the heads to swap the lifters. But the 4.8L should have the ports cast for the AFM so you could swap everything of the 5.3l to it. The AFM valley cover with actuators, the AFM lifters, and the oil pump. Lot of shit.

I would swap a 6.0L in the truck. Just get a GEN IV 6.0L and retune. Or use a GEN III and make it a GEN IV with a 4x cam LS2 front cover, 58x reluctor wheel, and harness extension for the Knock sensors.

Or just tune the 4.8L, and add full bolt-ons, add better gears since its most likely 3.42. And keep your 100k warranty on both of them! The little 4.8L isn't a bad motor just likes to spin because of the shorter stroke.

If it has 3.42 go 4:10 at least!
