The PCM in your Tahoe requires input from the VSS to function properly.

It will work with out it it. It just uses the VSS to shift the 4l60 and some idle properties. I am not sure who could tune it out for you. Tunecats use to to it but they got bought out years ago.

Why not a 4l80? It will give you an overdrive and your PCM will control it.

Youre right it will work without it...but from past experience I wouldnt recommend it. The PCM needs the VSS input to control idle speed while the vehicle is moving. Without it, you will stall every time you come to a stop.

Very annoying

He has is a Vortec 350 I doubt it will have any idle problems, it will run with out it. If so he can just raise his idle.

I have seen LSx engines have problems with idle and no VSS as well as poor fuel mileage.

Oh and he will lose his Speedo as well. And ABS.

I'd talk to Westers Performance about deleting your VSS.

They were the only ones who knew exactly how to add the 4l80e .bin files to my comp to make it run in place of a 60e when I called. All the other tuners said they weren't sure it was possible.
