what you think about this ??

i have a 305 sb and i got a TBI intake and the harness for it. when i got the 305 it had no intake on it. so today i got intake gaskets and went to bolt it up and very soon i saw that the center 4 bolt holes are on a differnet angle. so i look it up and find out fron 87-95 that is the way them made them. so im stuck. just wounderin what you guys would do in my shoes?? buy a new intake ??? or put a carb intake on it (which i dont want to do ) some input would be cool

you got a vortec head 305. possibley a HR block.. 1 piece rear main (flywheel flex plate bolt pattern).... some have a mech fuel pump boss others dont.

cheap route bore out the holes on the intake...

correct way get the correct vortec intake....

No, not vortec. This instance would be pre-vortec heads...there was a *slight* intake manifold change 87+...but the vortecs did not come until later!

As mentioned, you can ovalize the holes in the intake and the problem is solved. Some guys will go heavy with the silicone and some large washers just for extra assurance.

The water ports and intake runners will line up just fine and the intake will seal.

Another option would be to buy an aftermarket intake specifically made for this retro-fit....
I went through this a few years ago and ended up just spending $120 for an edelbrock aluminum intake.
