i've got a small block with stock heads and a crane energizer .454" lift cam. i also have TPI out of an 86 camaro sittin in the garage. I think the cam might be to big for the tpi computer, does anybody have any thoughts? right now the engine probably makes near 300hp and if i had to get a smaller cam it might not be worth it to inject the beast. <IMG SRC="smilies/usa.gif" border="0">

A stock TPI setup is really too restrictive over about 250 HP with any RPMS. It's just enough on a stock TPI 350. Upgrading the base, runners, and TB would be a waste of money because there are other better alternatives.

As far as the ECM goes, I would get a custom chip made to run with your cam and such.

you might want to talk to the guys at howell engineering 810-765-5100. they could tell you what would and what would not work. they can also make your harness and set up your ecm. i've used them for my conversions and their stuff works great.
make sure what engine size your tpi is. could be a 350 or a 305! they might run different parts for the tpi. ask howell about that also.
