Is anyone thinking of buying a power welder?
I have a gift certificate for 150 US for one, but don't plan on using it. E-mail private Mud Lite

Mud lite,
Where will you buy a welder for $150? I have a Premier Power welder under the hood of my CJ and have had nothing but trouble with it. Nothing but trouble. [The service guy said he'd never seen as much trouble with any of their products. Yeah,... sure] It works well when it works, but if my business put out a product like this, I'd be out of business. I initially spent about $800 for it and installed it myself, and got maybe 10 trouble free hours out of it. It comes with a new 160 amp alternator (which became the source of problems with 3 rebuilds of stators and circuits going haywire), and not including power switches, volt meter gone south, other interior woes. Not enough belt for the drag on the pulley under high amp draw conditions. This is on a dedicated off-road machine that sees few actual hours of operation. I'm not real happy. regards, as always, jefe
