95 loaded 4.3L S-10 Blazer, 90,000 miles.....
Push 4x4 button... front driveshaft engages... replaced vaccuum switch on x-fer case, now vaccuum actuator (under batt tray) pulls in.... front axle won't engage... <IMG SRC="smilies/mad.gif" border="0"> now what?????????? is this a common problem? Should I pull off the cable where it enters the front diff?? Any ideas?? Thanks from a Jeep guy helping a S10 guy...

If this is what I'm thinking I believe you have the "silinoid" (sp.?) in the pumpkin that actuates the front diff. inside the housing. It might be "froze".....try 2 free it up....might work 4 ya

That lil fawker on the front chunk is either good ot bad... no in between. and while you got it out, you may as well replace it anyway. and yes, there is a good chance that it is toast.
