Post Dana 60 Lockrite ???

I have heard that the Dana 60 Lockrite is some beefy shiat,,, But I realy want to run a Detroit. But as always money is not in my favor at this time. I ran the Lockrite with my old Cruiser axels and broke the four small pins once. So my question is,
How strong is the Dana 60 Lockrite??
Have you every broken one?
Is the stock Dana 60 Carrier going to hold up?

Any input would help me out,
Thanks.

I think the Lock Rite for the 60 only comes in a 30 spline version. So it won't work in front ends. But I could be wrong....

I've got a lockright in my D60 front in my 76 F250. Its been in for 2 seasons now and I haven't had any problems with it, except I seem to break outer shafts much easier. <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">

I ran a front 60 Lockrite for about 5yrs without a problem with 44" Boggers!!! I can say I had used Milemarker locking hubs and couldn't keep em in the truck---SHIT,CRAP and whatever else you want to call them..they replaced them about a hundred times until I finaly dropped down to 39.5 Bogger and never broke one again!! I'm lincoln locked up front now in my YJ 60 and it seems to work just great!!

I used one in my willys truck for 5 years with 44 inch swampers with no problems...and I have had one in my hybrid(s10) for 2 years with no problems with 44 inch tires. I use the drive flanges so I end up breaking u-joints instead..hope this helps...
