Post Quarter panel, repair or replace?

I have some rust appearing on right side rear qtr panel. What is best way to proceed? Repair or replace? I haven't been able to locate replacement qtr panel locally. If needs repearing what can I expect to pay? Thanks in advance Harry

umm... question? WHY!?! the next tree you drive by is going to reach out and smack the hell out of it anyway... if it actually sees the trail.

Just hack the old metal out or torch it out. This is nature's way of telling you to run bigger tires. <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0"> <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">

DUCT TAPE! No, not really. My father and I had an endless battle with rust, on a NON-TRAIL '76 Chevy P-up. He sanded and Bondo'd for years and I followed when I got the truck. I usually too a screw driver to it, bashed out the rust and made big holes, and filled them before inspection time.

If you don't want to Bondo for the rest of the truck's life, replace it or cut it out completely...it's like cancer! If it's a trail rig, cut it out and then you have space for bigger tires...which is always a good thing.

J.C. Whitney sells the replacment panels for cheap, and supposedly they are not that hard to replace. i think their website is jcwhitney.com but dont quote me on it.
