6.5l turbo diesel
I have a few questions. I'm going to look at a 94 suburban with the 6.5 turbo diesel with 230k on it with a rebuilt tranny. I was wondering what to look for on it. I going to use this as a kid hauler/tow rig for my truck.. It's only 2500 and just looking for some info on them before I go take a look..

I have a 96 with a 6.5 and love it for the family but require some mods to be reliable for towing. Check out THE DIESEL PAGE for more info. I also had a 96 crew with a 6.5 for towing and was fine until you hit big hills. I used it for 8 yrs until a could afford a D-Max.

take off the intake into the turbo and wiggle the turbo make sure its tite and no oil!!!!then look for excessive oil in the hose coming off the cdr into the intake hose (thats bad).check oil and antifreeze for bad head gaskets (there known for weak heads).see how much its smokes when started. correct me if im wrong just my $.02.but there good trucks good luck.
