700r4 shifting

i just put a 700r4 in my z71 and when it shifts to 2nd gear it shifts really slow what could fix that? all the other gears shift good its in a 91 model truck

Check the Detent cable ( TV cable) for proper adjustment.

Did you get a used one or one rebuilt?

Could be setup with the wrong second servo or the wrong band adjustment.

By replacing the apply pin. It is part of the intial build of the trans.
