New 2 door Tahoe guy
I have a 96 Tahoe with a 6" Rough Country lift. Just put it on last weekend. 15x10 rock crawler wheels, 33x12.50 Kuhmo road venture M/T tires.
![]() ![]() I would have got bigger tires, but I didnt wanna put gears in it yet. What are some other mods that would be good for the truck? I was thinking ladder bars. And Im thinking about cranking up the front a little more to level it out. Anybody have any good advice on what I should do driveshaft wise? It pulled out more than I like after the lift. I wonder if a reg cab truck driveshaft will work? |

WOW! Dude thats awesome! Good Job!
.........thats what you wanted to hear right? ![]() ![]() ![]() I'm even going to put a straight axle in my 4 door and its just going to be a street queen/mall crawler...... Sell that new lift to someone else and throw a solid axle under there, make a build thread, and you might interest us pirate people a little bit more. Most of us care more about how a truck is built than how the body looks.

I would love to make it a straight axle. That would be the shit. Im kinda new to the scene, and I dont know what crap I need to piece it all together.
I heard something about finding an old Ford front axle if I wanna keep my transfer case. Im not taking the damn lift back off after all that work

see this is a HARDCORE offroad message board, that's why you get harassed so much. That is not considered hardcore. A bolt on lift on an IFS Tahoe is not hardcore, which gives them the right to flame you because its not meant to be here. It looks nice, you may be able to cruise the high schools and pick up some bitches! Seriously though, for your sake and ours, just post up in general 4x4 and you won't get these kind of answers. Read the rules on this board before you post! Good luck and I hope you head in the right direction and hope to eventually see you here tearing her apart and having a build thread! Edit: Driveshaft wise take some measurements on the length you need and see if you have a local driveshaft specialist that can rebuild yours, or make you a new one. They should be able to extend yours. If not a driveshaft shop then some sort of fabrication shop...

If you're new, then don't run your mouth. Any backwoods inbreeder can bolt on a lift. There is all kinds of wicked builds here, and I'd rather stare at a scabby mud truck, than a bolt on pavement princess any day. There's no skill involved in what you did. Don't get me wrong, I build trucks, and can appreciate them for what they are, just don't expect a bunch of hugs from the guys when get here. Besides that though, you're truck will never be cool without a set of trucknutz.
