205 is stronger,( some would say, marginally, but it is.)
241 has lower low range.

What motor, trans? How will you use vehicle?

wait you said with a chevy front not ford right.

so it would be a 208 youd want to put in with your 700r4 to switch to passanger side drop but. i dont know if the 241 came pass. drop.
205 would need adapted shafts outa eather the tcase or tranny cuz your 700r4 is most likely 27 spline. 205s came 10,31, and 32 spline.
dont think ive ever heard of a 27 spline 205.

if you got with a 205 make sure it has the round mount pattern to the tranny adapter side which is mid 80s 1 tons the figure 8 type on the older ones has to use a adapter and the case has to get drilled

id go 208 as a easy swap, lower low range unless you got the cash

hey i did a sas on my silverado with a 4l60 which is the same as the 700r4 with a 27spline output and a 6 bolt round pattern. There are 2 things that nerrow this down the 27 spline and also if its a 2 wheel drive or 4 original then the shaft length is differant. with the passenger drop you have 4 options your cheapest being a 208 or 203 and the next step up which is what I would strongly recommend is a 88' to 91' 241 with a sye kit. it is strong light weight and has a decent ratio. Your other option you have if you really want the 205 is to adapt it which is possible through Advanced adp. but is supper expensive. So the option I took is to take a 203 which has a 27 spline input redrill the face to match the 6 bolt round pattern and do a doubler. honestly it was the same price as adapting the 205. plus i got 2 low gears.

Like i said earlier your best option is the 241 with the sye kit, which if you get the 88 to 91 will have an electronic speedo. I am in VA but I have one in the garage if you have a way to get it.

good luck if you wanna go doubler Offroad design is the way to go!

My '89 (5.7, 700r4, 241), has a cable-driven speedo,
my '90 ( stolen ), had same set up, but electric speedo.

NP203 has a fixed rear yolk already. NP208 has a slip rear output.

any 205 the can bolted to a th350 is 27 spline first off. and this doesnt apply to you but in a post lower in the thready you dont need the advanced adapters bullshit to the the swap. all you do is buy a 35 dollar spacer and grind a quarter inch off the tranny output then just use the stock th350 to 205 adapter and its done very cheap at that.
