i have a 55 willys buggy that has a tbi 350 and the rest of the drivetrain out of a 90 suburban. the alternator was working fine in the suburban, but after the swap, no charge. i have a buddy that did a 4.3 swap and he told me that the alternator will not charge if you don't have a charge light on the dash, i guess it complete the loop. any ideas on what wires on the alternator should be going where? thanks in advance.
depends on if your running an older 3 wire alternator, or a newer Delcotron electronic alternator. but a quick google of " GM alternator wiring" will do it for ya. i know on mine you either have to run it to a dash light or through a resistance wire.
i found this link in 2 sec. just google what you need on this one
cool, thanks for the info. i'll keep posted on what i find out.
