4.3l to a 4 speed?

Truck was a 77 350/4speed/np205 .
I was putting my truck together and found cracks in the heads of my 350. can't locate any heads(live in the kootenays, can't travel too far right now), but have a 91 4.3l with low miles. Not worried about electrics and such, but am wondering about hooking it up to the 4 speed. Any issues or is it basically the same as a 350? Am I going to be able to bolt up the flywheel/pp/clutch to the 4.3?

thanks

I might be wrong but as far as I know the 4.3 is just a 350 without two cylinders. It seems like it should work fine but I'm not sure about the flywheel, clutch and pressure plate. I do know that they have the same bellhousing pattern though.

Its a 91 4.3 so you will need a one piece rear main flywheel. The 77 350 flywheel is two piece rear main so it wont bolt up.

The clutch should work with the new flywheel.

auto tranny connector

thanks, you are correct on the flywheel.

what kind of problems, if any will it cause to the pcm to have the tranny inputs not connected? I assume it will just ignore the lack of connections upon powering up?

anyone ever put a 4.3 in front of a 4 speed? no results in search, so i assume maybe not.

The only connections to the transmission would be the VSS and the drivers for the TCC solenoid. You can emulate the VSS although I don't think it's necessary and the TCC drivers don't matter one bit.
