Suburban tailgate conversion

I have a 87 suburban with a tailgate. I would really like to have the barn doors in the rear. Has anyone ever herd of the conversion being done?

It's been done. Just gather the parts from a barn door equipped donor truck and note the differences. I think the only metal work req'd may be the bottom sill replacement, but I can't recall for certain. If no one else chimes in, PM me and I'll check for you... I have one of each.

i bought a suburban where the swap was already done due the floor being rotted out. the thing i dont understand is how the heck they got the threaded plates that the hinges bolt to inside the body. basically when i unbolted the doors when i scrapped the truck they fell right out the rust hole on the bottom. but yeah as was said you just need the doors, hinges, threaded plates for the bolts to go into and the latches.

It would be easier to buy my suburban with the barn doors already on it
