d60 beef up and rebuild pn##http://pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=39510

d60 biblehttp://pirate4x4.com/tech/billavista/60_front/

this is the dana 60 front axle bible. it contains just about everyhting you will ever need or want to know about chevy ford and dodge kingpin front d60s, including interchangable components, part numbers, exploded diagrams, bom numbers, vehicular aplications, assembly/disassembly instructions and identification.

d60 king pin rebuild
http://pirate4x4.com/tech/billavista...pin/index.html

this is how to rebuild your d60 kingpins.

dana axle spec's and identification/verification
'67 - '78 http://www2.dana.com/pdf/X510-8DSD.pdf
'78 - '98 http://www2.dana.com/pdf/X510-9.pdf

these are dana's specs and breakdowns of all dana axles used from 67-98 for all makes and model of vehicles.

d44 and d60 identificationhttp://77cj.littlekeylime.com/web_rs44.html

one the best d44 and d60 interchange and identification sites out there.

14bff biblehttp://pirate4x4.com/tech/billavista...ble/index.html

this is the 14bff bible, it contains everything you could possably want to know about the 14bff from 73 98ish. part numbers, identifications, widths, assemebly/disassembly instructions.

gear install
http://pirate4x4.com/tech/billavista...4b_Gear_Setup/

while this is directly for the 14bff the concepts and instructions will apply to nearly every axle in existance save for a few parts that do and dont exist in particular axles

gear install
http://pirate4x4.com/tech/billavista/Gear_Setup/

this artical is based on other axles without drop out pinions and adjuster collars

d70
http://pirate4x4.com/tech/billavista/D70/D70.htm

this artical covers the basic components to a d70 rear with some comparisions to d60.

d70
http://pirate4x4.com/forum/showthrea...ght=d70+thread

this is for all intents the chevy/d70 bible, while it is not an artical it is about the single most comprehensive colection of information on the axle and its many uses and setups. now because it is an active thread it will change, grow and evolve as the times and styles of modification do.

disc brake conversion
http://pirate4x4.com/tech/billavista/14b_disc_brakes/

this artical is all the fullfloating disc brake info you will need, it can also help you understand what you will need to do, use and modify on other axles that you might want to disc swap. however it will not have much on particular applications and parts to swap your particular axles, unless its a d70/14bff. bare in mind that since this was writen dozens upon dozens of mfg's have began to make bolt on brackets for just about every possible combonation of hub and axle housing you can think of.

more info on brakes and system design.

A mod needs to pin this up top, big letters, bright colour, etc.

Hopefully it will cut down on the stupid questions.

what do I need to flip the hubs, install lockers, wheel disc brakes, pinion brakes spring rates, wheel/tire sizes, install boots, differences in types, strengths etc on 2.5t rockwell axles?

that's the only question I have.

K. Thx.

Good idea btw for putting them all in one thread. Easy to find info is the way to go.

If your front diff looks like this:

Name: 10b.jpg
Views: 13906
Size: 13.3 KB

It's NOT a D60.
It's a 10bolt.

need help

Hey im hoping someone can help me. Im building a street rod truck and I have a gm 14 bolt rear end that was built for it. Im trying to find a disc brake conversion kit but heres the problem....Its a gm 14 bolt, 9.5, 5 lug which is rare enough but the axle housing end pattern for the disc brake kits dont match anything ive seen online. The 14 bolt is only listed at 3 3/8 by 2 5/8 and the chevy 10 and 12 bolt are completely diff measurements. Is this just some abortion rear end they made and im screwed on a disc brake kit??
