241c 27spline to 32 spline

Does anyone know if this is true? I'm asking because I have a 1992 32 spline D drop 241c and a 1989 27 spline P drop 241c and I need the 32 input on the P drop. I didn't know that there was a difference between the years and the gear pitch.

Those will interchange. Its not until 94-95 that you start to get the change in the cut of the gears.

I did this swap on my dually case. 87-94 has a BD50-8 wide input bearing and 94-on has a 6010N input bearing. The input gears are different between the two. Yours should work.

I did this swap also. I found during the swap, the 32 spline came from a full time 4wd vehicle which has a shoulder on the shaft that wont allow it to sit properly. 10 Minutes on the lathe, just like new.

its easy to identify the pitch change , the gear splines are either pointed on top or squared off ...

There was a shoulder on the 32 spline AWD input at the base, right up next to where the gear splines are that wouldnt allow it to go in all the way. Once i cut it off, it went in completely. I'll see if i can find a picture.

The AWD input gear has me confused. Which AWD case are you referring to?
