Family crew cab crawler

IT started life as a 1973 reg cab 1/2 ton 4x4 short bed gmc. I installed Dana 60 with wfo springless high steer arms with crossover steering the tie rod is behind the axle installed 56' s in front with shackle hangers under frame and 6 inch shackles the front axle is moved forward like 3 inches and for the rear got a 14 bolt installed 63's moved rear axle back and inborded them under frame and 5 inch shackles.then installed cab got lucky my dad's friend gave me the cab had to notch the frame so the cab could sit lower only a little body lift It's a 76 but the chp gave it the same vin as the 73 so no SMOG. The truck weighs 5470 and center to center axle is 131 inches

Out of all the builds I have looked at thus far (which isn't that many really) your truck is the first I have seen with inboard springs. I searched some other threads about inboarding and it mainly helps with articulation I take it.

My question is, why don't more of the full size truck builds inboard? what are the pros AND cons of inboarding?

Love the snow wheeling pic btw.

The only thing that I found with inborded rear springs is in reverse going 10-15 mph or so it gets scary.but my rear shocks r junk. I need to relocate the shocks to. Weld apron back in. I should of left in the front pockets but live and learn. headache rack rock sliders hydro assist and locker in front some year. It will be white soon my old man is a painter.

That is spark plug.
Rock slider hydro assiest locker in front some year. need to re locate rear shocks not sure if I should go straight up and down or heading forward or back or like stock 1 forward 1back. I was trying not put the shock up threw the bed need to haul dirt bikes there is not much room with just stock 63's springs and no blocks 5 inch shackles and inboard springs with 14 inch shocks.

Truck is cool. Any good action shots?

great looking truck!

I've wanted to build soemthing similar for quite a wile (ever sense I had to sell my '82 about 10 years ago).

I think if I ever get the chance to build one though, I'll probably shorten the cab/rear doors enough to take out that little fixed piece of glass. Doing that, although it would mean more body work, would move the cab corners a little farther away from the rear tires, and add just a bit more bed space.

I like those snow pictures haha looks like fun man! This thing makes me want to turn my limo crew cab into a trail rig like yours, the only problem is bikes dont hardly fit in a 4 foot bed haha

truck looks good did a similar swap to my 91 and inboarding the springs doesn't help as much as you think i moved mine in 3.5" either side and it didn't seem to make that much difference than just a shackle flip
whats ur spring width?
