Chevy leaf springs

How long is a front leaf spring (eye to eye) on a 73/87 chevy truck? And how wide at the eyes are they?

You're using springs from the wrong end of that truck.

Yes. It will be easier to use 52" rear leafs in the front.

Dont forget to take into account for your bushings to stick out about 1/4" each side of the leaf spring eyes when you make your hangers...

Because the 47's are gonna be stiff as fawk, and its easier to make/order new mounts and use the 52's for about 4" of lift (pending how much weight you have in the front), and ALOT softer ride.

Now, take this to the newbie forum.

the rear of the 47s end up right where the frame curves in its a bitch to make mounts to actually hold up.http://pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=961402 check out my brackets

make your front hangers first. get a rough idea of where the rears should be then put weight on them measure ur shackle angle and play with where u have ur hangers just tack em in just to make sure u have them where u want them. want ur shackle angle at about 25-30 degrees back.
