--NP205 electronic VSS speedo sender

I runinng a 94 chevy 350 TBI at fist I didn't think I needed a speedo sender but to run right and pass smog it is need
This is a ford 205 and the VSS parts are from a 241c

Start with taking off the rear yoke and housing

Take off the old speedo gear

The 241 "gear" is about .250 wider

So I had to cut it down

For the new gear to clear the housing I had to mill the inside where the old speedo sender plugs in

Milled a flat spot

Cut an 11/16 hole and taped to 3/4

Thank u very much!! There is nothing like having a beer with the radio on in the shop getting ur hands dirty on ur own rig using ur own ingenuity!! And this would be a better place if we all did a little more of that and sharing and less busting balls

Thanks again and I hope this will help others later

I like it! I've been wondering how the heck I can get my speedometer to work in my 97 after I put the 205 in it. I couldn't find anything on that website for 97.

Except that the ones you listed will not work. I've been down this road and tried to use several different sender kits, and none worked properly. The problem is that the above is a 40 pulse per rev signal, and JTR offers a 2 or 4 pulse that is meant to go directly to the ecm, not to a drac module.

I did exactly as shown years ago in my own rig after trying the easy way out with senders that didn't work.

this whole thread needs to be added to the FAQ. i like the ingenuity my hats off to the OP for his machining prowess, but for those of us without access to such equipment the links to the different speedo providers is good.

Youre correct. They dont work with the drac module, which isnt required for the ECM or the speedo. Ditch the drac and yes they do work. Ive done several conversions TPI and TBI using the JTR VSS.
One wire from the VSS goes to ground and the other directly to the ECM, while the cable drives the speedo.

Except if it's not a engine swap deal, then without the drac you lose your cruise, ABS, and if it's a 93 up the trans won't shift.

Hey jersey shore (yes we all hate u cuz of ur spray on tan and down syndrome IQ) but that not the point.. The JTR VSS is an option but it is not what I am trying to show here

This is nothing that hasn't been done before.
