My opinion would be to put this in the newbie section before some of the seasoned vets welcome you pirate style

I would run the lift springs that your pal has and maybe a 1 or 2 inch block if anything. You can make the 33s fit without the springs, just need to do a lil trimming of the fenders...

Had 33's on my old 85 K5, with no lift. They would rub at times. Rust eventually fixed the problem

x2

Had 33s on my stock '91 K5 and only had some rub at full stuff. Also, a buddy of mine had 35s on his '91 K5 and just had to trim the corners of the wheel opening a bit.

Edit: A lil bit of advice. Read the stickies at the top of this section. It clearly states that questions such as this belong in the newbie section. The locals can be pretty ruthless at times.

You should be able to fit 33s with no lift, get the saw out and hack some fenders. If you dont want to cut on your truck then this is the wrong section for you.
