Will Casey Currie's new car be IFS? Can't remember what the Campbells are building for him. I think Bill Baird is getting an IFS car from them later in the year, but not in time for KOH.

It's Rick Derimo's <sp?> old single seat buggy. I think the chassis was a Jimmy's. After Rob bought it, he had Jimmy make him a 2 seat chassis and switched over.

It's a fast car and Rob is in it to win it, but has bad luck.

Rob used to drag race, so he has racing in him.

busted rear end testing, fixed it then took too long on LCQ

This was bad news for him. Fuel leak, shut down on course and before he could get out of the way/out of car, was hit HARD from behind several times. Course finally went red and thought he could back down the hill he was on. Rear tire caught causing him to endo and flip 4 or 5 times WITH NO SEAT BELT ON! Ended up crushing his foot and having emergency surgery down there. Team got car fixed and co-driver tried to finish race, but burned up trans again - trans was already having issues qualifying with 2nd gear and the sprage slipping.

Now car is fixed. New trans built by the guy that used to build his drag trannies. I have diffs in shop to rebuild AGAIN. ARB clutch ring is toast again. I think because the housing was bent (from being hit at Glen Helen), it destroyed the Detroit in the rear.

So we'll see what KOH2012 brings... LCQ again and he's ready for it.

JEEZUS!! That is a run of bad luck! I recognized the Jimmys chassis, but didnt realize it was Rick D's old car.

Hopefully he has the bugs worked out!!

We passed him stopped on the second hill but had clean air and thought he's in a bad spot sitting there. Only later did we hear they got hit a few times in the dust. Lap or two later they were yellow flaging when we went through the pits, went up the hill and dave was at the top telling me to stop. Same time I hear co-dawg yelling HOLY SHIT! Looked over and all I saw was roof, tires, roof, tires, watched him roll about 4-5 times down that second hill. Sucks he got hurt like that but man it coulda been alot worse. We've lost too many people that may still be here if they just would have buckled up.

Back on topic, don't matter how many IFS cars there are, I still say a well setup solid axle car can hang.

IMO, as long as the SA car can carry enough speed through the whoops that it makes it too hard for an IFS car to pass, they'll carry the day. And if the course has enough tough rock sections to challenge the IFS cars.

Defiantly a bad mistake on my part. I had released my belt when I came to a stop with broken fuel line. Was going to get out to check it out when I got rear ended in the dust. So I decided to stay in the car (figured it was safer inside) After Dave had stopped the traffic, I was going to ease it down the hill (not running).
First mistake: did not get out to check the car was moveable.
Second mistake: did not check that I was buckled in.
One of the rear end hits took out a brake line and when I took buggy out of park there was no stopping and no control. Didn't realize that I had forgot to rebuckle till I hit the roof. All I was thinking at that point was try to stay in the buggy.

I never forget to buckle up when I race or even go wheeling.

NEW RULE: IF THE CAR IS GOING TO MOVE CHECK YOUR BELTS
