every day i think of the times and things i did with my Dad and Family----

what do we leave our kids and the future kids to come--- memories.
i think that IS the MEANING OF LIFE--- to build memories !

sit in a hut- or mansion--- what does it matter ?!--- you ARE the sum total of your experiences and MEMOIRES--
everything CAN be taken from you--- except your memories !
Health and wealth are just fleeting things---- but memories will last FOREVER !

YOU people are makeing memories for your children and the generations to come--- "My Dad was in the first of the KOH races-- way back when they started " !!!

My Dad has long passed---- but he still lives in my memories---- as YOU will live in the memories of those close to you --- FOREVER

i have a wall full of trophys that my sonS and Family have gathered over the years--- and what is it ?? a wall of MEMORIES !
The KOH experience is something i and my family will remember FOREVER--

and due in large part to all of YOU --- The KOH FAMILY

Actually,given the fact that Jeff and Dave had this designed as a media event and really didn't want spectators,this was what they were hoping for.It was a different mindset for the first year.When they saw what happened after the video came out,they then realized that they were going to have to start dealing with much larger crowds.

Almost everybody in that picture is connected with a team,a volunteer or media.I was standing just behind Nick at the left

Was there in 07 during the OG 13 looking at those rigs sayin, that's some bad ass shit right there. There was 60mph winds that weekend that did 10k worth of damage to the Motorhome. Wifey said your not goin back.... Yea right you and what army is gonna stop me!! Anyway donate to keep land open and put yourself on the Volunteer list, the two biggest things on my list to do!

I noticed there were different video producers for each of the first 3 years. That guy who started in '10 has done a better video every year, and Hammerking seems to have stuck with him. His editing really captures the feeling of KOH and Ultra4.

FWIW, that guy only started for Hammerking in 2011, 2010 for Pirate

Awe, that was the year Sunni and I were Weathergirls, keeping track of all the racers on course, and we didn't lose anyone!

That was the year every camera man they put in the helo hurled...on the crowd at one point. eeew.

And Saturday we ran Sledge to put all the rocks back to where they orignally were on the waterfall.

This was our little corner of KOH. I picked the spot because it was after the bottom of Aftershock and the cars had to make a 90* turn, and I figured they have to slow down anyway...well some of them did.

actually from what I remember both dave and jeff told their sons "sure, go ahead" thinking that there was no way they would do anything worth while.

it wasn't until the next morning they realized what they got themselves into. cody and bailey stayed up for quite some time digging that out. and it caught more than one competitor by surprise.

FWIW, I missed the 08 event by 2 days because of when I had to report to my new command in WA. 09 I was on deployment in the far west pacific, but got to follow on-line because of coverage right here on pirate. 10, 11, and now 12 I have worked.

I wish Krusty. but unfortunately she married another one of us "ghey sailors" and moved off to Italy last summer.

She is really bummed she hasn't been out to the desert in so long. She does send her best wishes though (every time I go out she makes sure to remind me to say hi to you especially) and would be there if she could.

I missed '08 by days, but followed online and have seen the famed tool box in person. It is in use (as it should be) at Campbell Ent.
I was here as team member for Desertfab (and Campbell, and who ever was near us in the pits) for 09, 10, and 11.
Thanks to some really crappy luck this past 15 months, I will miss 12 in person, but will certainly be _looking_ busy at work. And that sucks harder than RedneckRea on swabbies with $5 in port!
