As far as I know..
'B' Class is following the Ultra4 modified rule class, but existing B class rigs are 'grandfathered' in with any differences. Reflective tape or stock taillights in the rear = good idea. I'm planning on putting 2 strips of the red/white trailer reflective tape on the rear bumper, should be plenty. Fire suits not required but not a bad idea. As far as in the vehicle, at least in the past - Larry has wanted to see a first aid kit, reflective triangle, flashing 'breakdown' lights (white / orange / red) , and fire extinguishers. Tech (at least from what I have seen) isn't designed to keep people out of the race - its just to make sure you're not being stupid & going to hurt yourself or someone else.

The shortcourse racers register for pit campsites, different than the spectator camping. I'm not sure how they are handling ultra4. would be worth a call up to Crandon.

...And as a as rules go, I think all the extra safety reqements are great idea. Being broken down on the trail makes u really appreciate everything Trec is trying to put into place. However.....
....it would be nice if the rules, safety and all other changes, were released more than a month before the first race. Small changes on a car could make the differences between one class and another. I would be awfully upset if i had done something to my cherokee to find out the new rule changes bumped me to a different class or gave someone else a competitive advantage after I had worked so hard to stay within the rules. Well, It looks like I'll be out for the first few races
![]() Last Monday they found a 4" x 4.5" x 5" tumor lodged between my Heart and Right Lung. I'll find out what it is on Tuesday and if its benign, they will open me up on Wednesday to take it out. 12 week recovery minimum. If its Cancer, well, that's another story and I may not race at all this season. ![]() I'm going to probably have someone else drive the buggy for the first few, we'll see. Just to get excited for next season, here is one of my favorite pictures taken at the Badlands during the KOH qualifier last year. Who can tell where it was taken?

Everyone in the full size vehicle class needs to get fire suits this season. We will probably waive it for the first race but get on it. Safety tape and triangles are important - battery operated "tractor supply" style lights are important too. I am going to try to bring a supply of tape, reflectors, blinker or two and hopefully a few fire ext.'s too, but I can not guarantee it. We are doing our best on getting things released and organized; Yes, there is room for improvement. Also, I am certian that there are a few people that have had questions over the winter that I have not gotten back with. If there is anyone that has questions or needs me the best way to get in touch with me is to call. PM me and I will send you my number or call the office and they can give it to you. Thanks guys LT

got my fingers crossed for ya. Pic is of the tower? at the start of the rr track road below the lower lot. ultra4 rule #7.2.4.1 says one piece suit are required. A 2 layer firesuit, gloves and fire resistent shoes are highly RECOMMENDED. |

Best in the desert has always put on a great race. Never been to V2R but I have been to Laughlin a couple times and we would always go to parker every year when I lived out west.
You guys will have a blast. The jeepspeed class is pretty cool to watch.
