It's time! Car is prepped, cans are topped, chase is in order. Nothin to do now but go have some fun in the Baja desert!!

JT starts the first transit stage to Laguna Salada in an hour. Car is ready to go. At Laguna Salada, they start their first Special Stage (race stage) that lasts about 45 miles. Then a transit to Valle de Trinidad, race to San Felipe, transit to Puertocitos, race to almost Bay of LA.

I (chase 2) will be at Salados, then reconnect at San Felipe. I will follow race course to BoLA. Chase 1 will wait for the car at the end od SS1 and then head west at Valle T and down Hwy 1 through Guerro Negro.

I will update when i can.

Looks like JT is in 11th after the first day with a penalty of some sort.

And a 6:10 penalty looks pretty stiff compared to the other penalties.

Got an update on Torchmate racing's JT this morning via text.

He just made it to Loreto this Morning at 5:18 am. Finished day one with a few problems but finished well in the last two stages.

Day two started well out of the bay of LA. Race mile 36 the front pinion nut came off slung the front drive shaft and knocked a hole in the transmission.

After a long recovery, fixing the car this morning in order to finish the race.

That's all I got.

Torchmate racing update on JT.

Dave Cole just called and gave some insight on JT's effort to tame Baja in his Ultra4 car.

As reported he blew a hole in the transmission. yesterday morning.

The recovery took a long time as his chase crew had a hard time getting to him. Chase 1 drove back north from Gererro Negro to Bay of LA, and then pulled the car south to Loreto. This morning they pulled it down to la Paz where they are working on it now to change the transmission, so they can finish the last stage tomorrow into Cabo. After a strong first stage they DNF'd the 2nd and 3rd stages, and will receive a time penalty. They expect to have no problem getting ready for the last stage.

They Finished!!

"We Finished!! I'm pretty sure we won the Evolution 4x4 class. Changed a tranny, two drive shafts and a pinion nut last night and falwkin killed it today!!!"

There was another competitor in the class, but they went out early.
