The course is just about all marked - banners - scaffolding up for sound system - hot pits laid out, start/finish laid out - general store prepped......

Toilets and trash trailer tomorrow

Road signage mostly tomorrow

If you are coming in from the west, make sure you go 20 miles from the stop light at the beginning of road G - you can't miss the Taj MaHualer sitting in the field - if you've mapped out to the address listed you need to go about 3.25 mile further to the west.

I dont think most people get the Luxury in life,,, lol ,,, To deal with our great Government Agencies, that are here to "Serve the Pepole"....

This event was a chore dealing, It seems like after ever Election you have to start over..

For everything we had to do, we question it with what we needed to do to make it it Permanet for furture events....

It is a lot of Work to pull each and every event off...

I can say is Thanks !!!! To Big Rich and his crew....
We love To Race !!

Beautiful drive to Cortez today! Lots of scenery and mass rain storms. Got here to a full pack of racers pre-running. I was really excited to see all the top contenders in both mountain and southwest series here! Levi & Brian Shirley, Andrew McLaughlin, Loren Healy, Mike Klensin, Chris Hoyt, Dave Ashman, Kyle Brisk, Todd Seawall....holy cow...that's just starting to work down the list (see points post). Going to be fun to see how that settles out tomorrow!

Also excited to see solid turnouts for 4500 & 4600 & UTV class!

Got to see Jimmys 4x4 tonight! Whew-wee! Pictures are on my facebook page or werocks. (Sorry on my phone, maybe someone can post here for me). Look there for pics tomorrow too.

Up since 4am....time to call it a day! ;-)

Had fun spectating. Rooted for jason in the silver jeep, but a broken tranny I hear got him.

Chatted with the cooper tires guys for a few, nice guys.

All in all I would say the drivers made it a good time. They all took time to chat about little questions and show things to us that havent been up close much.

Damn Darryl, you certainly get the hard luck award. Sorry to see the carnage. Glad everyone is okay.

Edit: Looks like the axles are working

Axles held great... one front axle pulled out of the cv in the hit, but neither was damaged. The rears are awesome...Turner Cycles did a great job...

Great Times!! --
Congrats to Brian Shirley, Loren Healy, Levi Shirley and COTTIN RODD!!
-You all Killed it out there!!!

All I could hear was Horsepower and Sirens the WHOLE TIME, awesome race!!

Our engine mounts decided to give up the ghost, and let the motor run around in the engine compartment like an angry Badger on red-bull!! running the fan thru the radiator, instantly dumping the water out....
but thanks to some AWESOME pit help (THANKS Again Casey and Loren) we got another 3/4 of a lap in, before starter and transmission/flywheel assembly some-how got to where the starter wasn't even touching the flywheel anymore...... not to mention third gear was now where first gear used to be, THANK YOU TYLER FRAIZER for towing us BACK ON YOUR FINAL LAP!! with about a 1/4 of the course remaining You made it look easy!!

- 234,000+ miles on those engine mounts, think there under warranty?

Way to go Shawn Passmore and Jason Kamnisky great season, see all of ya next time!!

Also, IM COMING FOR YOU MILLER.

what a great event:

Our weekend started on thursday; we left arkansas at 6pm and drove 16 hours straight to cortez. when we got out of the truck friday the first thing cottin said was "do you need sleep", i guess we looked the part.

This was my first western/mountain race and i didnt think about an engine tuned for 600 feet elevation (arkansas) and racing at near 8000 feet. my buggy has never ran over 210 but it lived at 240-250 all weekend. we used 7 gallons of water during the race to cool the radiator and splashed the creek every lap to cool down also (not real healthy for the engine but sometimes you forget that during a race).

The track was a great mix of rocks and fast. The mud was a little surprise, it kinda reminded me of home.

Thanks to werock for having the event, cody the freakin XJ maniac , randy and everyone else who worked on building the track and once again Randy and Cottin for giving us a place to crash, feeding us and making us feel at home, super good people.

I cant wait to come back to colorado and race or even hangout
