I don't have any pics, but the gist is that the courses are pretty hard. We only finished one course, and I know others who only finished two or so of the 5 courses. Of the carnage I know of:
H8 boke a CTM on the first course, and rolled on the second. Dustin trashed a lot of his suspension links I think. RudeZuk tore his crossmember off. TriCounty gear broke their ARB in half ![]() Tracy Jordan's old FJ40 broke a front axle, adn was dricing around in 3 wheel drive... I think Cody Wagoneer broke something as well. And lots of people had to be picked off the boulders by the forklift.

Stock: Mellow #1, Wagoneer #2
Promod: Team Purple #1, Dustin Webster #2, White Flatty #3 (don't remember name), John Hall #4, Hal Frost #18 Unlimted: Rundog #1, Welder Boy #2 The only real carnage I saw was a big rollover of this orange/green Long-cj5 buggy. Also Cody didn't break yesterday like I said he did, he just tore a tire, and finished the course with the flat.

This event kicked ass... Rich and Co. put on a GREAT event. The courses were forkin' wild!!! Fernley is AWESOME!!! We loved it, even though it was VERY rough on our rig. We beat the piss out of the Grand Cherokee, and enjoyed every second of it. We actually finished dead last. It was still awesome. I hope we can see more of y'all out there next time.
Doug p.s. Tracy: we missed you at the casino... we lost our asses and I tried to get married to an 80 y/o waitress... I was VERY drunk.

The white Flatty was Dave Knox, first time competing, but was a spotter before. Dustin broke just the lower link, on my course Saturday, welded it back up, and broke it again on sunday... On sunday it shouldnt have broken by what he was doing.. I got pretty good at hooking up the crane. Sunday went a lot smoother than Saturday. It was definatly a good competition.
Team Purple did a 35 Second launch up course 3 on sunday, that took most people 7-10 minutes to get it.. It was made for a hill climb with large cinder concrete blocks 10 ft wide, and logs strapped down to the hill.. Fernley will only get better with time.. The owner is willing to spend time and money developing a full offroad rockcrawling course. He will try to mimic some of the climb's and rocks at moonrocks.. Cant wait to see how this will all turn out later down the road James

Run Dog was leading the at the end of the first day by 20pts with two near perfect runs on the top coarses (-3's)......we needed to finish consistant on the last two to stay ahead.......which we ended up with two perfect runs a -5 and a -4.....

This event was awesome! I was a little sceptical about a man made course but they did a great job. It was the best event I've seen from a spectators standpoint. I was disapointed they weren't gonna be at Moon Rocks but now I hope they keep going back to Fernley. It was a little cold and windy but the weather was definately bearable. I highly recommend not missing this one next time. Hats off to Big Rich and the crew!

The courses were better than I expected for being man-made . . .
I got these Saturday before the batteries in my camera committed suicide. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Great event! I loved it, It was the smoothest running CalROCS event yet. We actually got done, had the points tallied and had the awards ceremony long before dark, heck I was back in Sacramento before dark, it was great!
On the downside the amount of spectators was absolutely pathetic! Piss Poor I'd even say. I know the weather sucked but for all you people that didn't go because of "Man made courses" Your loss...

After fighting the weather and sand being blown in my face at the RCAA event (while I was sick) Weather was a big hinderance for me. I knew the courses would provide plenty of action.
