He rolled all the way down the hill then oil leaking caught fire. He was pulled out right as it caught fire. Everybody was ok. The Paragon staff was on the ball.

If fire extinguishers were not readily available, then the rig would have been lost. Randy absolutely gave it hell on the climb. He definately gets the brass balls award.

Now my bitch.... There is no way in hell that the left side of that hill should have been used for the legends competitors. I've seen most of the legends competitor's cages and they would have fallen apart coming down that hill. IMHO that is a setting someone up for failure. Hell, I bet some of the unlimited cages would have blown apart.

Obviously you didn't take a look at anybody's cages, much less the guy that tumbled down the hill.

the legends have the same rollcage standards as the unlimited,, and the rules are very much the same as uroc and erocc rules...

No need for cages when you make it But I do agree with ya. I timed out on #1 for that exact same reason. Not that I dont have brass balls, but I also wanted to live to shine them once in a while too and running that trail after a fresh rain was asking for trouble. Adrian's balls are made of titanium which is the only reason he made it down #1 without landing on his roof.

On the contrary... I obviously DID look at peoples cages and that is the result of why I posted. Obviously you didn't read my post. I specifically said Legends class not Unlimited. Most of the Unlimited buggies seemed up to par, however, some of the Legends rigs I saw would have never survived that tumble that the purpose built Torbett rig had.

As alway no one was made to run that hill or any other course. Anyone could have pulled the cable on it and received a 30. That is part of the strategy of the game... pull cable, be safe (injury and score) run it, take a chance. Also, I will never put an obstical in that I wouldn't feel safe trying. That hill is tough and I am not taking that away, but it is nothing like the obstacles the guys do out West with nothing more than a M.O.R.E cage or something of the same standards. When we were at the Super Crawl, 8 out of 10 courses were like that. Not trying to start a fight, just my thoughts.

Why do they have tech inspection then? Please enlighten us.

The legends side was not that bad (even though I didn't make it up), it was just intimidating as hell to look at, once I got started up and committed I relaxed, if it had not rained Friday I think we would have walked right up the face, just no traction was to be found. And I have to say that the PAP staff did a good job of having safety staff there just in case, I flopped on 4 next to the hill and I think there were about 6 fire and EMS guys there before I had my seat belt off, cheers to all the volanteers for the weekend, great job guys!!!

Now only if I had known that Gavin tried the same line I tried prior to my run. If I had that bit of info I probably would not have ended up like this.....
