Some RCAA MOAB scoop
We just got back from a 15hr drive and did not stay for the final postings. The 14 courses were nasty. I think Phil is probably smiling after looking at all the high scores with the exception of a few. There were more vehicles rolled and destroyed than I have seen in a long time. Tracy had a horrible roll and a couple great saves on B-7. It was very verticle, high and dangerous. There were more scores of 40 than I think ever before in an RCAA competition. Tiny, Johny G, Jason Paule, Kurt Hildebrand and Tracy were all part of the roll over crowd. However, They all ended up some where in the top. Matt (Factory Tubular) broke a rear portal case. It seemed to me that the courses were designed to allow rear steered drivers a little advantage at times. However, once again it proved that the Nelson / Nelson buggy is in a class of it's own. Congrats to Jon & Larry for conquering those rough courses. Phil had some devilish things up his sleeve and sure enough..he put some of the best crawlers on their lids.
It was truly some serious crawlin'...and a good show by the competitors. And Lance served some damn good olives...or whatever they were....I'll be waiting for those to come out of the jar in Farmington. Desertbull

That crew from RP Films: Hollywood, Sparkles, Cracky and Johnny Ringo. Oh don't forget the shaggy dog crew...man, they are the stuff...they brought 4 dogs with them on a 2-week working road trip in Utah....
And here' s the RP Film road crew damage tally: Cracky- Bruised Leg & Ankle Cracky- Broke Desertbull's Famous Bitchin' Polaris Quad in a rollover at the Dump Bump Johnny Ringo- Buried the Motorhome at the Moab Event Site deep sand...locals pulled them out for cases of beer. Hollywood- Crashed the ORC Satellite LapTop and delayed morning broadcast by 2 hours Sparkles- Drank Merlot Wine all night long with Jen from Rubicon Boys Inc. Cracky- Right rear corner panels on Motorhome crashed apart. Cracky- Seen drinking beer to calm the nerves...thought he didn't partake in that.....ummmmm But here's the RP Film road crew atta-boys: Cracky-Film Tracy from 3 angles while he was dancing his rig...and if you were there, you know what I mean! Sparkles- Looking gorgeous for 2 weeks straight Hollywood- Tried hard to uncrash the laptop for the ORC Satellite System that he crashed the night before. Johnny Ringo- Everywhere, all the time, epic footage...you rock! Cracky- Shared beer and Truckee coffee beans with everyone. DB

DesertBull we will be showing up at Cedar with a Fifth Wheel trailer. I was jealous when you detached your truck from the trailer and went back to town Thursday night. This trip made me realize motorhomes are not the best ticket!! The crew of Johnny Ringo, Hollywood, Sparkles, and yes me Cracky will be in full force at Cedar with some of my other crew!! Thanks again for the coverage and hospatilty the you and the Off-Road.com crew showed us!! Thanks!!!!

Desert Bull,
The pirates gave me an offer I could'nt refuse for crashing the laptop. I'm just waiting for the 2nd check to clear before I release the virus I planted the next morning. No hard feelings. -Hollywood. |
