EROCC Legends Class
Ok this is all new to me but what kind of vehicles are running Legends class EROCC. The only info i can find is the requirements of EROCC for legends but never see any pictures or what kind of coarse the run compared to the big boys in UNLIMITED.
Any info would help. thanks. |

They run a similar course as the Unlimited, with much of the "high clearance needed" obstacles taken out or offered up as "bonus" gates.
It's not as difficult as the Unlimited lines, but it is still pretty tough, and body damage is a near certain.

Both.
I believe that guy that finished second in our Legends class last event was running the following setup: 95 Jeep Wrangler AX-15 NP231 Tran. case Front Dana 30 w/ WARN Hvy Duty upgrade Rear Ford 8.8 with factory trac-lok 4-cylinder 35x12.50 Goodyear MT/R's About as much "trail rig" as you can get.

ERoCC Website... that info is located there. Specifically, here:
http://www.erocc.com/events/03june.html It's based on the # of entries... more entries, more payout.

If you want to get an idea of what's typical look at the pics on the erocc site(only a few there), www.peakempire.com who is my major sponser and has plenty of pics and video from my rig this year, or www.ovrblt.com which is Wes Herrmann's site for pics (He's the guy jeepinchad was describing)
For the most part the vehicles are just highly modified stock vehicles with the exception being Spaceeghost aka Mike Smythe, he has a semi tube frame and custom body panels but underneath it still almost all FJ40. As far as money goes it will cost you more than you win 99% of the time but there's nothing else like it anywhere. I have 3rd and 6th place finishes this year and I'm currently the points leader for the series and I have definalty spent more than I have won for the year but I'm getting closer to breaking even thanks to some great sponsers. If you're interested in trying it out come to Attica and get a feel for what it's like and then join us for the finals in August. The more competitors we get the more all of us have a chance to make. Later Justin

Thanks Justin for the cost analysis. I have been considering Legends next year, but have heard that it's not worth it because you end up running most of what the unlimited run, but win 1/3 the prize. Granted that was mostly heard at the first event, and this last one seemed to take it easier on the legends guys.
I think I will give it a try next year only because I know I have a chance at being competative, rather than facing Ken, Chris, Charlie, Troy, Ken.... I think it's cool that I could compete with a daily driver!

I will be in attica for the event. That place is kinda my home turf. I'm just going to check it out and see what is up.
Does legend's run both days or just one day at BADLANDS? Thanks for the info.

Not my only vehicle, but gets driven on a regular basis. I said could be a DD. That TJ that competes now could be a very confortable DD!
