Thats not the same event. This one is (was?) put on by RCAA. Somebody has got to have the details on this. Not enough participation? Costs to high?

The rumer has it, the event was moved to Cedar City because RCAA was not happy having a ProRock event the weekend before.

RCAA never called or said a word. We found out yesterday from Skyjacker when they called to see if Jodi would come if they move the event to Cedar City at the last minute. Seeing how this is a last minute change to someplace where time now must be scheduled off work and the fact they dissed our employer we have no choise but to miss this event.

On another note, does there really need to be a women's only event? There are not to many sports out there that a man will not do better just because of physical ability. However rock crawling puts the sexes on an even level, it would seem to me.

I think it's a good thing as it promotes female involvement in the sport. It also gives the promoters an opportunity to go after exposure in women's oriented print mags (and the sponsor $ associated with that). Does there need to be SEVERAL women's rock-crawling events? Probably not.

Sorry to hear that, Mike. Sheila and I were hoping to visit you guys and two comps and the SWFWDA is a damn good excuse.

Gotta love RCAA....they're so considerate

This sport is still to small to start bagging on organzation's. If you were the promoter for the event would you still want to hold it at Avalanche??? I mean Three events back to back to back??? Plus your Ranch still isnt that known to the public so it wouldnt be drawing in a Crowd like Cedar City will....Ever thought that maybe they are just trying to get the woman's event as big as the mens??? Cant do that with out drawing in a crowd!! Who's event was signed up first??? Maybe it is Avalanche Ranch fault for putting the events so close??? They knew when they comps were coming....they shouldnt of put them on back to back weekends!! Seeing that you must be an average player in this sport you should know that things come up and sometimes there is nothing you can do!! Just remeber......SHIT HAPPENS!!

Now as for dissing your employer....Man tough coment to make.....considering how many people I have heard BITCHING about how there Sniper wasnt finished on time like it was prommised!! A little pissy are we? Looking to make some points with RCAA? If you would take a second and re-read my post you will see that I was not bagging on anyone, just stating the facts. I have been competing for over 3 years now and have been to many events that have been in the same location as the weeks before. It has never been a problem in the past now it is?

Great comment on the fact that "maybe they are trying to get the womens event as big as the mens" and "they can't do that without drawing a crowd" Pull your head out, they scheduled with us in the first place. Are you saying that in the begining that RCAA were idiots for planing the event at the ranch and now that you came up with the no crowd idea that they decided to go elsewhere with out a word to the folks they commited to? Is this how you like to see business done? Dang dude I don't know you but I seems that you have some issues to get over before airing them out in public.

Yes this was dissing my employer and you are once again in the wrong and taking up a point that has no business in the discussion. You know this and you know that, again pull your head out and relize that in all this supposed bitching that you have heard about a Sniper not being finished on time you never once called me to find out what may have been the case and what the whole story may be?

All I ask is for you to please take a moment and think before for go off on someone. I don't know you and I don't think I care to at this point. I have been in this sport for a number of years and have an excellent reputation as being fair and honest. I do not have any problem with someone taking issue with me as long as they have their facts in order before they go off.

What are you talking about? (They may not want to have events back to back at the same place.) Thats what is happening everywhere. There will be 5 in Farmington, 4 in Cedar, 2 in ST george, and 4 or so in Avalanche ranch. It's a lot for any place. But we have to do it because all of these places take care of us. They all treat us well, and the BLM are harder this year than any year to work w/. So you need to have your info before you spout off. Talking trash about Weaver. In duing this you are really bashing the whole Avalanche team. They are a strong group and would help anyone that needed it.(except you yotafilmer) Since you are running your mouth w/out knowing. Weaver has been side by side in compitition since the very begining. I don't know anyone that has a bad thing to say about him. And I would know because I am all over the place and know the facts. Also Steve is really the start of rockcrawling. He set the standards high and it has takin about 4 years to catch up to him. RRCA had to narrow the gates to keep him from winning the events in the snyper.

First off not trying to favor ANYONE!! Just trying to let everyone also see that the Organizers do alot!! Second I would be happy to say here on the BOARD that my coments towards the Sniper were uncalled for! Sorry!! Now you did indirectly Diss RRCA by saying on a Public forum that they didnt call or anything. As far as I know it is the SkyJacker Womans comp. And Ranch was helping putting it on. I am pretty sure that Ranch had his event there first and then BobHazel came in and put a womans event the weekend before! Now if I were SkyJacker or Ranch I would want the event moved as well! You tell me were there has been a comp back to back weekends at the same place. I dont like to see business done this way but, then again did they have to put Bob's Hazels Event right before the other womans. To me thats bad business. To me that sounds like someone is money hungry? Weaver I was not trying to make a personal attack on you, hust trying to give ALL the organization a break. They have to deal with alot and having to change the event is a Win, Loose. So again I am sorry if you took it as an attack against you (Weaver) or the Avalanche Team....I have met almost all of you and you were all very nice....

Now as for you Pure-Adrenline!! I know ALOT more than you think!! I care if the Avalanche Team has a problem with me....but as for you I COULD CARE LESS!!

I guess you didn't read what you wrote. You called Weaver an average player. That sounds like a little bashing to me. If you actually knew what happened you wouldn't say anything. The BLM here in Farmington is charging too much for the events coming here. Bob told me that it would take about 900 spectators to pay for the permits and the police they require. Now in Farmington that didn't use to be a problem but now that there has been so many comps in the same location everyone here is burned out including the competitors. So about a quarter of the people come and watch. So that was why they moved it to Avalanche Ranch. The Rumores where cheaper and don't have all the red tape.

As for you....... !!!!!

I think that Pat has a valid point. Bob Hazel scheduled an event in Johnson Valley the week before CalROCS was going to have an event there and now he is doing the same thing with the women's comp at Avalanche Ranch. That sounds like bad business on Bob's part to me.

Since Ranch doesn't have any control over what Bob does, the only way that he can alter the situation is to change the venue of his own event. If it was the weekend AFTER Ranch's event I bet he would have no problem with it.

Just something for private venues to think about before they schedule competing series on back to back weekends.

All information and entry froms have come from RCAA not Skyjacker, also RCAA made the arrangemants for the event. This would tell me that RCAA is playing a large roll in this matter. They could have had the decency to call and voice their disapproval and let us know of the change.

Check the dates there is 3 weeks between the two. As mentioned by pure-adrenaline everyone and there brother has done a comp in Farmington, how many more times can they use Brown Spring area??

There is not a promoter out there that I have not had direct conflict with (excluding Big Rich) and I have never aired my problems with them in public. I do not belive I have done so on this occassion.

Thanks pure-adrenaline for the kind words.
