On the title page it says... Scherer from out of nowhere??????

How about out from the Stock Modified class

He won Donner last year.

As soon as he gets his rig working better, I bet he will be heard of just a bit more.

That's our buggy. It has a propane powered 350 going to a R-151F to dual ultimate Marlin Crawler, 2.5 steering rockwells f&r w/detroits and custom 4 wheel disc brakes, High Angle rear driveshaft disconnect and cutting brakes, 38.5 TSL SX (too small for it as we found out this weekend) with Humvee rims, the chassis is made from 2" 0.120 DOM with 16 gauge sheet metal panelling. Build pics are here

Thanks, the drag link is gone and a full hydro system is going in. We needed something to clear the front pinion flange so I bent two pieces of 1.5" tubing and then braced it. I don't like it at all and it got totally bent along with the tie-rod when we wedged that rock underneath the buggy going down the first course on Sunday. Later on in course 4, the steering column separted at the tilt section and we were done then. So the column, FJ60 box, and drag link are gone now awaiting a orbital box.

Wow, I thought that those were 33s by looking at the rig. They look really small, you need to toss some 49" IROKs on that thing!

Yep....

We misunderstood the rules posted on the Calrocs site when we built it a couple months ago and thought we were limited to 40" or smaller so that's why the 38's are on it now. That's not the case so 20" rims with 49+ are definitly in order and we've started to shop around.

Yeah I'm friends with Geoff. Actually, my fiance (the girl driving our buggy) is Geoff's cousin and that's how I met him. I went up with him to Fordyce a few weeks ago when we both had a few issues with our rigs. That shaft looks good but his exhaust is too close to it and when it spins the corners of the square tubing bumps it a bit and moves the whole exhaust system a little. His CJ is looking very good overall.

Hopefully someone other than me noticed how great of a driver and how good their team works together. For some reason I never really noticed until this event.
I was VERY impressed watching them!

I was next to Jason in the rotation this weekend and got to see him in action quite a bit. I was impressed! They ran both the finess manuevers and the muscle manuevers very well. The courses were brutal this weekend and they seemed to have the right answer for every obstacle put in front of them.
Congrats Jason!

Yeah I borrowed Joe, from Mike Shaffers shop, and was asked to not run him over, since they are very busy right now (especialy with having to pound the new rollover dents out of the Diablo rig) Although I didnt run him over, I did take him on a Dirt Ski run down the hill, of course #3 on Sunday,(luckily he let go before the last dash through the rocks). Joe worked his but off for me all weekend.
Thanks Joe!
