Question Which weekend for the 3rd Annual Put-Up or Shut-Up????

We'd like to do this again over the New Years Weekend, but with New Years day on a Thursday, can I assume that the 3rd and 4th would be the weekend of choice for the "Run what you Brung" Put-Up or Shut-Up. the location will be Cougar Buttes and the base of operations will most likely be the Vicotrville area. So if anyone has plans for going to the Hammers for New Years, this will be a great time to come play for the 3rd Year.

Rich

Proposed Dates

tech: Friday January 2nd

comp: Sat and Sun January 3rd-4th 2004

Why victorville this time rich?

I thought the Ramada in Barstow worked well.

Easy to promo an event (like we do at tech in) in Victorville vs. Barstow.

Better Draw of people from Victorville.

My concern is getting everyone at the same hotel if possible. That's what really makes Barstow nice.

I thought the turn out from last event was nice!

It is nice having all the rigs in one place, as well as you dont even need to leave the parking lot of the Ramada.
Food, Drink....everything is right there.

It is jsut about as easy for us up norht to come to victorville as it is Barstow, the guys coming from LA have to deal with heavy traffic between Victorville and Barstow. And as Tony said, the promotion end of the event is easier to do in a larger town...I'll know more about the hotel situation this week. The place I want has a huge parking lot, enough for all the trailers..........

Hmmmm...I sensed that someone was talking about me somewhere and I was drawn to this thread! And look what I find!

Funny you should mention this...I just got done discussing New Years and the Hammers about 15 minutes ago. I'm sure if I can make it that everyone would love to play with beads again! And we all saw what that did for the entertainment level at camp!

We have to move this event to the 2nd or 3rd weekend of january. The first weekend is the Supercross opener.

Hell I'll be riding with Tony so we'll show wherever it's at.

By the way, welcome aboard Pepper.

This sounds like fun. I hate to be the rookie here, but is there info anywhere about the event? I've been busy building rigs the past two winters, but will keep this rig for one more season and want to do some winter events.

My idea behind this weekend was that most everyone gets or can make it a 4 day weekend. the first is Thursday, most schools reopen on the next monday, etc. etc. Besides alot of guys go to the hammers over New Years so they will be in the area.

Whats up with the motorcycle thingy?

Rich

That weekend is the first Supercross race of the year and it's the biggest. A sponsor we are chasing ask us to be there and the deal is done.

I can't change it now and don't want to miss the PUSU event.

I figure a motorsports fan follows more then just rock crawling and if 60 k are at the races, then that's 60 k that can't make the PUSU event.

Nothing is set in stone yet, so lets think this out. Can we get a poster up or fliers handed out at the supercross? Can I go

Does anyone have a problem with doing the PUSU on the 16-18 of January?
