How Come Tatra is not doing better in the Dakar-Truck Series?

Hello,

as an avid fan of the Dakar-Truck Categorie i am wondering sometimes, why it is that Kamaz and Ivevo are dominating it.

As far as i can see, both use a relatively standart chassis and the oldschool leafspring+axles setup, of course heavily modified with absorbers and what not.

Of course the truck and its suspension is not the only facor, but shouldn't the Tara-Suspension with its far lesser unsprung mass, do much better when going fast over the hills? Same goes for the single suspension systems used by Ginaf.

And we know from lighter categories, that they never go for a the axle in the front, let allone a leaf spring anywhere!

It looks like Kamaz is using a special designed boxed frame tho, as you can see here:

But i am not sure if this is even the case with the new Master.Truck, which very well be using the standart frame again.

Anyways, the Tatrs with its massive pipe-shaped-core frame, should still be way stiffer, or not?

In the past i guess the engine was a problem, but with the DAF components, i guess this is a thing of the past too.

Maybe someone got some suggestions.

Greetings
