Maybe you shouldn't blow up at the judges when you can't even read the course map right, and you hit the bonus gate out of order? We were nice enough to stop time, let you back up to where you came out of gate 2 and let you start up to gate 3.... Think I know you? from what I saw, I don't want to know you As for the call of being out of bounds, you were, I watched it. You screamed at the judge, intimidating him, and that's why he over turned it....Why do you think Lil' Rich came and talked to you? Because myself and Jeremy (the other judge on A4) both saw it happen, and said somthing to Lil' Rich.

I see. Thanks for your response.
I apologized to the judge and I didn't mean to intimidate anyone - in the heat of the job it's hard not to have a loud voice - I have a helmet on, a radio in my ear, the judge is halfway up a hill and I have a V8 that I hear in the radio and my non-plugged ear. I called time out, and walked to the middle of the car. I explained my position and asked for a Marshall. The judge came down off the rock and looked at the distance behind the vehicle. In my opinion and the opinion of our driver the vehicle could not posibly been 1/2 way out of bounds it would have had to have been half way up the rock on the adjoining course. It was not halfway up the rock on the adjoining course. In fact it never even touched the rock on the adjoining course. The judge at that point agreed if he didn't he should have waited for the marshall. After we timed out on the course I apologized to the judge. He shook my hand. On a completly different topic you are correct we read the course map incorrectly on the previous days course - it happens. The judges on A4 (maybe not you personally because I don't know which judge you were ) were also thanked for that as I told the judge on top with the stop watch thanks at least twice once when it happend and once when the score card was collected. And yes Little Rich and I spoke about the incident, I told him I was not meaning to yell at anyone. He did not ask me to apologize or threaten us with penalties, he simply asked me to use my head. At that point I thought about it and told him I would take care of it which I did - I took care of it with the judge in question and offered a sincere apology because I honestly respect all of the judges who volunteer. The judge accepted and said it wasn't a problem. I'm sorry you took it that way.. but you still have no idea who I am and you are passing judgement without fact. I would assume that in your life you have made a mistake. I apologized for mine. Somehow I don't see that as being a dick, perhaps a hot head, perhaps a competitor but certainly not a dick. - Shawn Last edited by ThePagan; 07-25-2006 at 03:40 PM. |

If you would have came to me and thanked me, since I was right there, maybe it would have been different, you just seemed really pushy with the judges. Not a huge deal, I'm over it.

Again this sport amazes me... Shawn, being calm and coherent in a statement.
Wow. Have you dropped too many rocks on your head during practice? ![]() So... when do the guitars and singing of Cumbaya start? ![]() (yes, I am in the d-head mood today)

I was the other judge on A4 that stopped the clock for Team Rockstomper after they misread the course map, after what I saw him(thePagan) pull on B4 I was pretty upset at what I saw, I still believe me and Kericksonzj made the right call, we were very consistent and above all else safety minded, I do not know ThePagan personally, but it is over and behind us, what happens in the heat of competition is just that, we all make mistakes and sometimes overreact. I will gladly share a frosty beverage with team Rockstomper or anybody else that ran W.E.ROCK Goldendale, good luck to all of you and thanks for putting on an Awesome show...........
