I asked on their website forums as have a number of people. It's now 11 days away and they haven't given jack shit for info. 11 days and not even a press release saying yes or no about the event happening. Par for the course I guess.

Thanks for asking though...I placed a call to Dirt Sports to see if they knew anything. They seem to be tied into it somehow (rumor says so ayway) so if they get back to me, I'll post up.

I'm pretty sure its on, we paid and signed the entry form. I can email you one if you cant get a hold of any one. you can call charlett at 801-932-0322. I was told that it was just an exhibition but with a small pay out, with limited entry's. we also have the rules and format, sounds like a blast.

Yes, heard tonite it is very limited entry and exhibition only...that of course came from Off Road Expo after nobody from UROC could answer questions for anyone, even on their own website. Nice pre-event planning as usual. They really think this is how to do business?
I left a message with Charloette early today and I'm sure she's busy as she still hasn't had time to get back. Regardless, we'll be there to cheer you on Cottin...I guess we're just not going to partake. No biggie as we're putting the rigs in sonsor booths and they're stoked.

Not sure what day. I'm gonna leave the rig home as last year johnny law wanted to arrest me after the Sat show. Good times Sat night thanks to some gear oil and a folding table but thats another story. Sunday morning Jeepspeed meeting so I'm guessing Sunday. Likely strip the rig Sat and start prepping for BK1 ( can't friggin wait) Too bad UROC dropped the ball I was thinking Rock racing at Pomona would be a blast and damn good for the sport as So Ca. has a ton of potential. They shoulda let The Kliens or Weavers run the show! I'm still smiling thinking about the table and gear oil. Damn that was some funnay! Off to lucurne!

I'm thinking they have a lot of work to do and a short time to do it.
I had my Dad drop by the Fairplex yesterday and see if he could see a course. The Rocks we used last year are still piled up by the back lot. The LA county fair was held up untill this week so I guess getting in would be trouble any sooner. Does anyone know if its a Gunite course and how long does it take that stuff to cure? The stuff we did last year was an axle breaker and I'm thinking the crowd might get a case of the been there done thats if its a repeat. Rigs sitting in a booth so I'm out either way just kinda wonder what the plan is? Anybody know anything?

They called us yesterday to give us an answer...their first answer was, we don't have any info...LOL.
Becca asked the UROC representative to contact Ranch and get some info and Charlotte was nice enough to do so, calling us back later saying Ranch didn't have any info to offer beyond "we're not taking entries at this time". That said, and putting it together with the info Cottin gave earlier in this thread and the info Jeff posted about the course, it's a very limited demonstration and no longer an event...without press releases from UROC, I'll assume it is no longer the BFG Triple Crown...

I just got back from dropping my car off at Fairplex. Total assumptions here on my part so I apoligize for any misinformation I'm spreading. Looks like they are using a gunite obsticle set up simular to Vegas SEMA. IMHO its not big enough to be a full on comp so I am guessing That they are doing only exibition. It appears to be in the same location and aproxx same size as last years pile of rocks. The rocks from last year are still in the same spot they have been all year at gate 19 next to trailer parking. They could get some of them moved and mix them in with the gunite stuff that would be pretty cool. The obsticles are fairly small and if they are adding dirt or some sort of material to protect the asphalt they will get smaller. I have no idea what they are planning at this stage but at least they are working on it and I believe it will look very nice as SEMA did. Thats good for the sport and I think in this setting better then a pile of trucked in rocks. I did not see any machinery working on it this morning but there where a few bodies standing around. The Expo schedule showed 3 show times simular to last year. Nasty break overs on what I saw. IMO it has the makings to look beter then last years show as far as exibition goes. It's really too bad that for what ever reason this was not planned out and promoted a little better. I have no way of knowing what the deal was between the parties so I won't assume, but this is a great market to expand the reach of rock crawlings fan base. I'm not sure if the logistics of a competition could be worked out but it would be fairly cool if a limited number of entries could hold a comp at next years event. (invitational maybe) Good luck to everyone this weekend promoting your teams, business, and the sport

I'm glad to hear that news. The last thing our sport needs is to have a no-show event. UROC always does a good job with the shot crete courses and as the buggies perform better on that type of track, it makes us all look better. Looking forward to seeing the teams running this weekend!
We'll have the new RockHer in one of the corridor spots on display for Sway A Way. We left it as it was coming out of the Pro Rock event this last weekend so the body is a little tweaked. We're saving the special body for SEMA where people want to see it looking like a trailer queen. OffRoad EXPO is more the hands-on type of crowd so I think they appreciate the "just raced" look a little more...I know Red Bull prefers it that way too.
