Crossed Up's Pit Crew Member In Hospital - Pirate4x4.Com : 4x4 and Off-Road Forum

Hey Everyone,

I just wanted to let everyone know about our buddy/employee/Pit Crew Member-Mitch Burke. He was in an accident on his motorcycle going to Redington Pass. A lady in a full size pick up came out in front of him. He had run in to the rear corner and was tossed over the truck and landed on his side braking his femur, fracturing his hip, road rash, almost tore his thump completely off and is suffering from a concussion which is causing him to ask the same ?'s over and over. This morning he has started a new set of ?'s so the Doctors are saying that is a good sign. He went into surgery last night to repair his femur and they are letting the hip repair it self. They are running some more tests this morning and hoping to do surgery today to try to save his thumb. Mitch is going to have a long recovery so let’s all keep him in our prayers.

I plan on giving an update when I get any more news.

He is at Arizona's University Medical Center

UPDATE:

The docters worked on his thumb and says he wont lose it, but they dont
think he will be able to use it. Lets wish him the best!

UPDATE: Looks like they saved his right thumb, but most likely won’t have mobility . Mitch is in a lot of pain, but still has his since of humor. He has most of his speech back so the scare of brain damage is over. Thanks to everyone. I am going to take some responses I have received to him today.
