XRRA Ideas

I wanted to throw some ideas about the XRRA up on here to see what you the drivers have to say.

Besides qualifying procedure, I have some pagentry ideas for XRRA. Because the XRRA needs some extra oomph for the crowd in the ceremony department. I think that the Weavers have it together, and now they just need to add some flare to it.

1. It is a race. Races are known for one thing in the pre race...LADIES and GENTLEMEN START YOUR ENGINES!

2. Champagne Ceremony for the top 3.

I thought the fire spectacular that RJ Brown has been putting on was enough "flare"... But that's only 1 if we're counting pieces of flare

Not bad ideas at all.

I will add another idea.

The announcer needs to talk about the race. Give a play by paly. Talk about the sponsors of the teams. Give the freaking team name!!!! Get the crowd fired up!!! IMHO the announcer at the Moab event was ????????
The announcer in Moab knew about 6 guys racing and that's all I heard about. He did interviews of teams that were not even able to make the race!?!? He left all the other teams high and dry. When I watched Video of the race while I was running he was talking about his BLUEBERRY MUFFINS!!!! Not once in all four runs was my team, me or any of my sponsors mentioned. Or even the fact that there was a race going on. The crowd is going nuts watching the race and he's talking about his sweet little helper who got him a muffin WTF!!!! I have alot of $$ into this and I could not care less about how good his muffins were!!!!
Part of the blame is mine. I will give the announcer a press packet this time before the race, hopefully it will be better on Sat.

wow man I thought the he did a good job at the moab race, and I think that he probly can say whatever he wants seeing that the property you raced on is pretty much his and without him and area BFE you wouldnt have raced at all...

Some racers have co-drivers... You have an ride-along firefighter

nasnut- I think you need to come to a few more rock races---or fly out west for the Co. Springs race in June. They've got it figured out in the west--it'll take a little bit to get the east to be as smooth running! I wasn't there at Jellico but if it wasnt smooth it will be. They've got the western ones down pretty good!

I would but with my travel calendar set up the way it is I am booked on the XRRA west weekends. Matter wise I think the event at Jellico went smooth in every sense of the word. I just think that they are lacking some of the pageantry of other motorsports. It was a good show and I really liked it.
