2009 XRRA Race Season just around the corner - Pirate4x4.Com : 4x4 and Off-Road Forum

No need to panic but we are just 121 days till the start of the 2009 XRRA Xtreme Off-Road Racing season. The XRRA is excited about the upcoming race season. Unfortunately the US economy has affected many members of the XRRA family and I am sad to say I have had some calls from long time teams that are going to have to sit out this season and see what develops. At the same time interest in becoming an XRRA member and racer is as off the charts as ever.

In 2008 the XRRA paid out over $85,000.00 in cash and over $8,000.00 in product, I would say that’s not too bad at all. In 2009 the pay out percentages will remain the same however the actual dollar amount will be reduced, this is reflected in the lower series and event entry cost. In order to do all that we can for the teams of the XRRA that come out and make this series the success that it is we are working to help everyone reduce team’s race expenses. Please let us know if you have any further suggestions.

Can't wait till next season, i hadn't looked to see that new rules had been posted. Been raising money for next season and will be starting upgrades very soon. Can't wait to get my a$$ handed to me again!

Also, so i don't have to get a brain cramp with my rusty math skills, what would the whole 2009 western division cost, membership plus 5 races if all paid in advance?

Congrats Lucky Dog. Maybe in 2010 we will make it out so we can play in the xrra. Things just didn't pan out this year for us to make the jump to the buggy class. WIsh the Weavers would do a smaller class also and we would be in.

x2 on the rule changes for this year, i quickly scanned through and only noticed that covering the radiator is recommended. Does that mean no more air blocking panels between the driver compartment and the rad, would def help the cooling issues. Jt mentioned this might be changed, just wanna make sure before i go changing things.

Thats correct. $1200.00 will cover cost of entire season minus the finals.

This is the only major rule change in the 2009 rules and regs. There will be a few other minor changes as far as race day format to come due to the 2 day race weekend.

Awesome! Gonna try and make 1 event with at least 2 rigs.

The FIA WRC MEXICO organizers decided to hold the INTERNATIONAL RALLY NATIONS, a new rally down here in Guanajuato for June 18-20, 2009. The WRC MEXICO returns in March 2010. We will make sure to make some rock racing noise at the rally!

MXRRA dates are set for Dec 5-6 already have some USA, and Skandinavian teams confirmed. Hope you can come down for 2009.
