Ultra4 partners with VORRA - West coast qualifier

I'm sure Charlene will have a boy-howdy press release sometime soon, but I wanted to get this out there ASAP.

We reached an agreement this morning with Wes from VORRA to move the Ultra4 class to 'Pro' status and give the series champion a spot in the 2011 race.

The fine print on the deal is that if the Series Champ is already qualified (Wayes, Yoder, etc) then it will drop to the highest ranking non-qualifier.

I'll dig up their schedule, but I hope to see you at the season opening short course race on 3/20 at Prarie City.

Dave

I raced the whole series last year and had a great time.

I believe the Short course races are $275 for pro entry and the Desert races are $475 for pro entry.

I know Wayes is racing again( Although Tom will miss the first two SC races I believe), I plan on the whole thing too. The Short course races are 45 minutes and the farthest Desert race is 3 hours from my house. Way to close not to go have fun

I saw the "ultra4" addition in the rules on the site a couple weeks ago, had a feeling this was going to happen. Damn I've got to find a way to run all these races and my rig still don't run!

From the VORRA site:
"Open 4x4, Ultra 4/ BITD 4400 ,must have operational 4wd and solid Axle's (no independent suspension), minimum weight 3750"

Is that still going to be part of the rules?

I think that was for adding 4400's to the Group T class. Which was the plan before this new option. At least thats what was talked about.

Got it. I laughed when I saw the no IFS thing

Since I won't have to worry about beating YOU I might stand a chance Now I've just gotta talk some more people out of some money so I can race the season!

Well if you show up Dave you have to start in the back because you have a fancy IFS car.

I see there are 3 motos to race now instead of 2. Hope 4400's have a good car count. It is off the hook fun. Land rush start with a bunch of rock buggies that think they are fast. hehe

I heard you might come up and take turns driving a certain fast 4400 car in a moto. Guess I need to wear two helmets for this race.

I'll be driving Derek's new buggy so it'll be just like old times! I'm sure we will race each other hard but hopefully niether one of us ends up on their lids. What are the rules like...anything like NORCAL (no rules?)

It's gonna be a blast racing you and Hussy and whoever else likes to play rough.

Hey, I'll be in Orangevale on Sunday (14th) getting my race bikes dialed in. I'll be there until Wednesday then going to Reno to get some seat time in Derek's buggy. Let's hook up during the week.

Huss, you up for a practice day on the bike at Hangtown? I'll call Ian too.

Cool Chris! If you and I bang into each other as hard as we have in the past we will both get black flagged. Not to worry though it will still be hard racing. Give me a call when you get up here, If I can get out of work I will come ride with you guys.

Hey Kevin how long have the short course races usually been? As in how much fuel do I need to plan for?

I think we finally have all the main issues resolved in the buggy... shooting to take it out this weekend and beat on it. Hoping all goes well so I can race next weekend.
