California Firefighters 2012 Olympics 4x4 Event

Calling all California Firefighters! Spread the word. It's time for the Firefighter Summer Olympics and we are back with the 4x4 Competition. If you or someone you know loves four wheeling and would like to come out for a friendly competition and trail run out at Hollister Hills this coming July, please respond. The event will have a couple classes, from mild to wild. Courses and classes will depend on what you drive and are comfortable with.
This is a non-profit event and all proceeds benefit youth, seniors and the physically disabled. Please answer up and let me know if you are interested. I need to have an approximate number of people interested in this event to get it put on the roster. This event is open to all California Professional firefighters current and retired. Please spread the word.

Divisions: 35” and under “Daily Driver” class – mild courses not designed to damage vehicle

36” and over “Daily Driver” class – mild courses not designed to damage vehicle

36”-42” Buggy class – moderate to difficult courses that may cause damage

Super Mod / Unlimited class (examples: rear engine / rear steer / single seat) – moderate to difficult courses that may cause damage

Mud Bog – open class, judged by time/distance (event dependent on water status of the park)

Please submit vehicle information and modifications with your entry form

Scoring is simple; all courses will be scored based on time.

**Vehicle must be currently LICENSCED or have GREEN STICKER**

Rules: -DOT or SNELL approved helmet (for both driver and spotter)
-Roll bar or factory hard top
-Functional parking brake or micro-lock
-Tow strap or rope (recommended rating at 2 times the vehicle weight
-First aid kit
-Jack capable of lifting the vehicle and tools to change tire
-Fire extinguisher with gauge indicating good/full, appropriately stored
-Seat belts for all vehicle occupants
-Antennas must be rigid or restrained in a manner to prevent injuries
-Adequate attachment points front and rear, i.e. tow hooks, receiver, etc., tow balls are not permitted.
-Battery hold downs (no bungee cords)

Dates: July 17 Gates open and overnight camping available prior to event

July 18 Official Competition
Camping available night after event

Times: July 18 8:00 am – Check-in and Safety Inspection
8:30 am – Drivers Meeting
9:00 am – Start of competition

Check-In: Competitors may check-in remotely at the 4x4 event. However, if you are participating in other events you must check in at the host hotel.

Why does this got to be on A shift? I had no idea this was going on. Too cool. May be next year I can compete. Keep it up.
