Wide Open Design's Revolution Chassis

Prices starting at $4600. Taking orders now!!

We have listened to your feedback and have finally created a production chassis program at Wide Open Design. This inaugural chassis design is a combination of some of our most popular chassis designs. It takes the long flowing lines from the blower buggy and combines them with the aggressive style of our Team Adam Racing Ultra4 car.

This design blend is uniquely Wide Open Design utilizing the rolled tubing look that we pioneered and which helped put us on the map. This style has since become very popular in the off road industry and we are now making this affordable and refined chassis design available to the consumer.

The beauty of a production chassis from Wide Open Design is that you will have a chassis system formerly only available at a custom, one-off price. The new chassis system will be built around tried and true powertrain, axles, electrical, and suspension configurations to ensure the immediate success of your new buggy.

Specifications/Options:

Chassis is 55" wide at the widest point
112" to 118" wheel base
The base chassis is designed with all of the main structure tubes 1 3/4" x .120 wall DOM tubing. The lower bars of the chassis at the belly pan are 1 3/4"x .188 wall DOM tubing. The rocker is 1 3/4" x .250 wall DOM tubing.
Support tubes are a mix of 1 1/2" and 1 1/4" x .120 wall DOM tubing
We have an Ultra 4 tube package that will be more suited for racing. It includes different roof bracing, window tubes, and B pillar bracing
Designed to fit most common drivetrain configurations
Designed to fit a rear mounted radiator with the coolant running through the frame rails (optional front mounted radiator)
Removable belly pan so the transmission and transfer case can be removed or serviced from the bottom of the buggy. No more tearing out you interior to pull the transmission out of your buggy.
The suspension is designed to allow for 9 in of up travel in the front and 10 in of travel in the rear with a 20" belly height on 40 in tall tires.
The chassis is built to mount bypass shocks and coil carriers, coilover shocks, or air shocks.
You can easily run shocks mounted to trailing arms or mounted to the axle.
The chassis is designed to fit suspension seats and offer adequate head room for taller people.
Storage room built into the chassis to accommodate tool bags or coolers.
Chassis designed for a JAZZ bladder-style fuel cell up to 33 gallons, to fit and pass racing regulations. Custom aluminum cells are offered to maximize the storage area.
A complete line of brackets and tabs are available for this chassis to mount different drive trains, axles, and shocks. Wide Open Design also offers the tabs for all of the small stuff as well such as, PSC steering reservoir, oil coolers, orbital valve, shifter, seats, seat belts, brake pedal, etc.
An optional spare tire carrier is available (must specify at time of order).
We will have a complete body kit for this chassis as well as an interior kit.
This is a chassis that a home builder can complete at home and have come out looking and working flawless due to all of the home work we have done for you. All you have to supply is your labor and extra touches to make it your personal vehicle.

Call 615-962-9135 to order

www.wideopendesign.com

Here the chassis sits with a LS engine in place.

Here you can see how the frame rails are ready to be plumed for coolant to run to a rear mounted radiator. If you choose not to run a rear mounted radiator the option is there to cleanly cap these tubes when you order the chassis.

Here you can see that you have plenty of room to run an off the shelf header with this chassis.

Plenty of room in here for a variety of Drive train combinations, mufflers, plumbing etc.

The front stinger on this buggy is optional. It is your choice weather you want it or not.

Here it is with out the stinger

This chassis has the the Ultra 4 roof package included. The rest of the Ultra 4 package includes " X " bracing behind the seats and an extra tube in the window area.

Just an extra touch in the " B " pillar area of curved tubing separating the tubes.

.250" Thick DOM Tubing for the lower rock slider tube and front cross member

Charlie, as soon as we set this thing back on the jig we will measure everything out for ya. You dont have a M15000 winch do ya??
I'm getting weights and some additional photos today. So early next week I can get things measured (mocked) up and respond.

Charlie, I will give you the M12000 out of the Powerwagon to shoehorn in if you get this chassis.

Chassis is back on the jig with engine in it.
We mocked it up with the 31" x 16" Griffin Combo kit we have spec'd for this chassis and it fits fine with a smaller winch (rc9000). The radiator does have to be laid back to keep it under the hoodline, but there is plenty of room.
It could be fit in with larger winches(not m12000) if the stinger and 2 front tubes where re-arranged slightly.

So the answer is yes! A front radiator/ front winch is achievable.

I got a couple quotes back today.
1) was $1396.62 to a residence
2) was $855.89 to a residence (much better)

Residential fees are normally $75-100, so if it was going to a business count on it being that much cheaper.
I was told if destination is in a more direct shipping route it would be less.

I am working on a couple other options, right now.
If anyone else needs a quote, shoot me a zip code.
