Is there a host hotel. Coming up on time to make reservations and would like to at least stay the same place as some other Ultra 4 guys.
If not what is close to the race course that's decent, pool for the kid, breakfast etc.? |

We stayed at the Marriot across the street from the mall where tech is. Kind of a haul (30 minutes) from the race course, but real nice. Has pool and all that other kid stuff I look for as well.
Reasonably priced, too. Hope to see the ORD guys there!! ![]() Rob |

Security at hotels is difficult for us with an open truck and trailer... anyone camping? Where?

I was looking at the Ultra4 site last night. It says camping in pits.

Much easier. Jeeps routinely go out there and do 90+% of the rocks on 33s. Definately not as bouldery, most of it is smooth rock similar to Farmington and a little like Moab. There are only a few buggy lines out there and I dont know what Drew and Joe are going to throw at you for the 4400 rock detour. The ruts in the sandy canyons and washes can get dug out pretty good especially since it is a lap race so it is a tradeoff.

Montessa. The other race stayed mostly on top of the puerco mesa and I dont remember very many getting stuck during that one. The last NM200 we pulled out a 1450 truck 2 or 3 times within 50 yards in a part that was getting really torn up

When I talk about going to smaller tires I mean 37's so it sounds like that will be OK. Thanks |

Were planning on camping out there Friday and Saturday night.
For those of you want stuff for the kids to do, you might consider the radisson hotel right off I-40/Carlisle. It has a really nice indoor water park that's super kid friendly. And the nice part is, it keeps the actual hotel pool from getting busy. It's between the track and tech, about 10 minutes from tech/20-30 min from the track. Tech is at gardunos (which is also right off I40 on louisana). Gardunos is 2 minutes from a nice outdoor mall (Abq uptown) and a big indoor mall (Coronado). The track is in Rio Rancho (suburb of Albuquerque). There's a big mall out there (cottonwood), brand new movie theater, tons of restaraunts, breweries, etc. If you want to play around on google maps the race itself will be at the west end of southern in rio rancho. If any of you have any questions about where to stay or anything like that I'll help out. Jeff |

Website says no pre-running but there is a parade lap at a set max speed before the race.

Anything on this? Curious what the rock sections look like for setup purposes.
