What rock crawlers are competing in the B1K?

Ok, so I am in the process of writing an article and press release about rock crawlers in the Baja 1000. If you are competing (driving or co-driving or even chasing, post up.)

Here's what I have so far, off the top of my head. I know there are a bunch more that have been posting here -

Team Pirate4x4 (Class 1700 Jeepspeed) -
1) Mike Shaffer (2002 RCAA Champ)
2) David "Kyle" Halabuk Trail wheeler, and employee at SOR
3) Lance Clifford (lame ass wheeler dude turned pro desert racer )
4) Camo (ex desert racer turned rock crawler)
5) Jeff Mello (won a ba-zillion rock comps and championships
6) Jody Everding (king of the stock-mod class)
7) Mike Lyster (wannabe VORRA racer, and long time trail wheeler)
8) Bob Roggy (owner of C&R Motorsports and stock mod competitor)

Team Fat City (Class 1700 Jeepspeed)
1) Captain Eric Filar - Mr. Fat City - Need I say more?
2) Ron Stobaugh (Owner of Alloy USA, Presicion Gear, and Reider Racing)

Team Dirt Sports (EMPI Elf - Class 11 )
1) Jason Scherer (Owner of Nelson & Nelson built "Tiny" and 2006 UROC 2nd place series finisher)
2) Clifton Slay (Owner of Poison Spyder Customs)

So who else is there????

Can y'all recommend any options/best routes to get into offroad racing/rockcrawling competition?

I live on the east coast and am building my trial rig into more of a comp rig to compete some, but how would I get farther into desert racing? I think I am going to move out that way after college but is it easier to get in with the "who you know" vs. trying to work your way up?

Thanks for any help, and best of luck to all of those that are competing.

We have 2 Broncos representing us in class 3 this year. It will be our 4th year at the Baja 1000.

Nate and John Williams, Johnny G and Shannon Campbell are racing Donahoe's FJ Cruiser. You can see the FJ in the BFG Booth at Sema. Should be alot of fun!
