Shaffer class 17 SCORE champions????

Looking at the points for the year, all the races before the 1000 show no finishers for class 1700 so with the win at baja shouldn't this give them championship? This might be confusion with numbers, they list Bob Land as the champion, and I know he has used 1701 in the past and then it was used by the Pirate team for the 1000. What is going on here?

That should be correct as long as no other 1700's ran in "06". Bob was at the mil but was'nt running 1700 and did'nt finish anyways.

We will give you the credit in spirit anyways. Pushing all the way to a finish is what matters. You guys gave it a heck of a go for a first run.

Looking at the SCORE page it list Bob as the champ, how is this posible with no races in class versus your 1 win.

Bob got points for starting races and sometimes for how many checkpoints you make. You dont have to finish the race to get the points win.

It must be that way for the rest of us who don't finish every race we enter. I almost feel sorry for you guys for having done so well in such a big and long race... On your first attempt. Imagine the disappintment when you go to a 250 miler and spend all day in the desert watching the rest of the world go by. To receive no points on top of that would be rubbing salt in the wound.
