where to buy race ready truck
Where would i buy a race ready truck? Looking at the stock or close to stock class truck or suv. I dont have time to build one myself but i want to race in a few races over the next 2 years or so.

good luck finding a race ready truck for 8K. I'd look into a sportsman buggy, like an old jimco or chenoweth buggy, or maybe a 7s or stock style class truck. We jsut picked up a fully built 97 ranger for 12k and threw another 3into it to get it ready for the MDR race this sat.

exactly, with building everything myself including the motor, suspension, and buying everything used I have over 8K into my truck and the rear isnt' even close to being done. I'll have around 12K into mine with me doing everything on it when it's done and race ready. Look into a old class 3 trucks if you want a fiarly cheap and easy to prep truck, although it will be a bumpy ride.

There are plenty of deals i am sure of it. Hell my old race car when i was racing ashplat cost over 14k to build but i got it for 6500. I dont like building trucks or cars anymore dont have time to go though the learning curve. And i did say STOCK CLASS. I never said i wanted to win either.

what i am trying to say (and i am doing a really crappy job of it) is that in off road racing, buying/building the race vehicle the THE cheapest part of the whole deal. ask any stock class racer (competitive or not) how much he spends race to race on a average prep job, fuel, food and logistics. the shitty thing is that the "prep" is never just a prep. something is always broken or needs replacement. things add up quick.

your almost better off just spending the extra cash to start with and buy a decent sportsman truck since they are faster, more fun and you'll be looking at only around 1500 for prep and race costs.

don't over look the Jeepspeed class. 8k might be a bit light for a race ready competitive rig but 10-15 should get you close. and the best part of it over say a class 3 is that in 3 your lucky to get 5 rigs per race. Parker this coming weekend there will be close to 30 jeeps-peeders

The guy that manufactures the drakart tried racing MDR races a few times. As far as I know he didn't finish, and those things are built well.

This thing wouldn't make it to RM 60 at San Felipe---we'll, maybe if the driver was on a Sunday cruise...
How would you like to see Lance-Arrazzi hauling azz coming up on this guys bumper at speed...Did u see the photos of that OTHER Jeep...that got the love tap from El Rey de Pirata...it was gnarly. There were three 8000lb Race Trucks stuck at RM 2.5 at Parker...the guy in this thing woulda' been toast if he was sitting in that silt bed. First 07 Baja 1000 Prerun leaves on 2/15 Thursday AM from San Felipe-Day after Valentine's Day for those that got to do that American love holiday...LOL Hosted by DB with guest appearances by the Steel Horse Cowboy and others. 700 miles down and 700 miles back---all in the dirt from SF south and back. No Whiners...
