Xtreme 4x4 will air Jason Baldwin Memorial Cup

Hey Guys,

Just wanted to let you guys know that in 2 weeks Xtreme 4x4 will air the first Jason Baldwin memorial cup from start to finish in two weeks.

Plus we will also begin building a CORR pro 2 Memorial number 66 truck, that CORR will take on tours throughout the country.

That was a great race...probably one of the most exciting I have seen in a while. We were really rooting for Curt LeDuc but I'm not going to spoil the show for those that were not at the races...

That prooves how important race prep is, and I think the person who put that bolt in learned tHER lesson.

Please tell me someone else is doing all the fab work and you guys are just bolting it together......with bolts specified by someone else and having a pro go through it before anyone drives it! I'd hate to see a "Ranger" incident again, this time with more power, other racers and innocent bystanders around!

Watched it and wasn't impressed. If I wanted to watch a 1/2 race show, I would have switched over to SPEED!! Where was the fab work? Seriously though, what happened except for you guys rolling the chasis in and then showing 20 minutes of racing. Quite honestly, I am severly disappointed with this season.

Where is the gorilla? How about the Jeep speed project? What about the Landcruiser?? How about the Toyota truck with the engine knock you talked about? I just feel like there is no continuity to the show and the repeat on Saturday and new show on Sunday, just sucks. I was hoping that due to your success you would have two shows a week.

Take my opinion for what it is worth and thanks for bringing the extreme to T.V. but let's see more of it!!

Tell it on the mountain.
Waste of my time. I deleted it as soon as I watched it. I was waiting on some tech to save it but no. Yeah We got to see what they will be working on. But I dont watch the show to see a damn race. Your right speed played the whole damn thing. Build that Jeep already and finish some of the others.
I still have some of the very good tech shows From Stacey one where he converted CJ to EFI recorded. Not being a hard ass about this either.
Hell Muscle car had more fab work in it. And It some what applies to our form of racing as far as the cage build.

Not being a hard ass about this either.

Heart does go out to the Baldwin family they know what it takes to to live on edge.

Well.... UHhh.. I liked it. You don't offen turn on the TV and see off-road racing. I don't live for the tech. I'll figure that out myself. The PowerBlock and Speed are the best things on TV. GOOD JOB!!

To answer your "questions" the Gorilla is being finished as we speak, I have to work some bugs out of all the stand alone ECU's before we shoot the road test payoff on it. The Jeep speed, in shop will be finished up next week (I said that at the beginning of the show) then later this season it will take place in a race that we are working out wioth a couple of promoters knd of a Jeep Speed invitational kind of thing.

MORE SHOWS!!!!! Let me break this down for you just so you can get an idea.

We produce 23 shows a year for Spike. It takes an average of 10 Days to make one show, that is 5 days without a camera prepping the project, test fitting parts, waiting for parts and setting up everything we need to make the show (Ask Ken Carter about these days he was there for a couple of them). 5 Days of shooting will give you one episode. (ask Otter, Brian Whaley about shooting he was there for a couple of scenes).

So there you have 46 weeks.

SEMA and other trade shows are a must in this business and when you include things like 4 wheel jamborees, and other events you will loose 2 weeks for those events

now we are at 48 weeks

Holidays inside a year take up about 1.5 weeks

Now we have 49.5 Weeks

Personal time off, like vacations, sick days and all that about 3 weeks per person involved in the show, and sometimes the three "key people" do not take these at the same time so we are going to round that up to 6 weeks

55.5 weeks

So you see, with only 52 weeks in a year we are behind before we start, and spend the rest of the year trying to catch up.

Don't get me wrong I am not complaining, I love this job and I know that almost everyone on here would trade in a second, and I respect that, I just wanted you to understand why more shows would be INSANE.

To put it into perspective a "regular" TV show makes 13 episodes in a season.

Anyway, I am glad that some of you liked the show it really was a little different that what you normally get to see.

Ian,

I generally love the show. I enjoy watching you two and the projects you work on. Looks like you really have a good time.

I do have to agree with the above posters, though, I didn't really care for this particular episode. FWIW.

My three year old son and I still watch every weekend.

Thanks for the clarification. I think what I am saying is that I want to see more of your show. You guys do a great job at building rigs and of course showing us new ideas, but I feel like you jump all over the place when it comes to your projects. You work on one for a week then on another for a week and before you know it, you have 5 projects and non of them are done. I realize that in a 1/2 hour show it is hard to show us everything we want to see, but this jumping around stuff just drives me insane sometimes. Oh and putting a pro-comp lift on a FJ is not extreme!! Seriously, between the blinged out air ride Ford, I thought I was watching Trucks . .. which by the way is building a Jeep. Does that make sense?? Extreme 4x4 BOLTS on an air bag kit to a truck and Trucks is building an extreme 4x4 jeep(minus the girly axles).

Always keep them begging for more-old show biz adage. Some people are going to complain no matter what you do. Love the show myself-keep it up Ian and Jesse.

The problem I had with it was that it wasn't "Extreme 4x4".

It was Speed Channel's "CORR Offroad Racing" or Lucas Oils's "On the Edge".

There are already several shows that provide this type of content. Extreme 4x4 is a different type of show. I don't mind a 5 minute segment on something like this, but the ENTIRE SHOW was too much.

I guarantee that show didn't take 10 days to put together.
